[News] Miike Snow frontman Andrew Wyatt Announces Solo Album, Streams Lead Single "And Septimus…"

As the frontman for Miike Snow, Andrew Wyatt is normally accompanied by production duo Bloodhsy & Avant. After extensive worldwide festival and tour circuits backing up Happy To You, it seems Wyatt would like some time to himself.

On April 16th, Wyatt will release his debut solo album, Descender. The album, according to Rolling Stone, will see the vocalist making use of a 75-piece philharmonic orchestra, as well as guest appearances from The Libertines’ Anthony Rossomando and former Interpol bassist Brad Truax.

For a sense of what to expect from Wyatt's solo affair, he's streaming the first single, a charming, regal cut titled "And Septimus...". Stream it below.

[Watch] Miike Snow - "The Pretender" (Official Video)

In the new video for "The Pretender", Miike Snow continue the journey of Jean Noel, the character who has appeared in the band's two previous Happy to You music videos (the first being "Paddling Out" and the second "The Wave"). The video sees the Cyrano de Bergerac look-alike taking part in his first music festival, HARD Summer Fest in Los Angeles. After being harrassed by some festival goers, Jean Noel sneaks his way onstage and dances to his hearts content. Here's to Jean Noel's fifteen seconds of fame.

[News] Miike Snow Announces More U.S. Tour Dates

News on the Miike Snow front has been pretty quiet in recent months, given that the Swedish pop outfit has been touring consistently since the release of their sophomore LP Happy to You. With a current tour going on in Europe, the band has decided that they will pay a return visit to the U.S. for a slew of live performances. Kicking off on October 16th, the tour will see them visiting major cities across the States with the final show taking place on the eve of All Hallows' Eve in Los Angeles. [News] Miike Snow, Skrillex, Bloc Party to Headline HARD Summer 2012

The fifth year of Los Angeles' HARD Summer Music Festival, which takes place from August 3-4th at Los Angeles State Historic Park, will be headlined by Miike Snow, Skrillex, Bloc Party, James Murphy, Boys Noize, Nero, and Squarepusher. Also included in the lineup are A-Trak, Magnetic Man, Claude Von Stroke, Little Dragon, Erol Alkan, Datsik, aarabMUZIK, Danny Brown, Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire, Action Bronson, John Talabot, 12th Planet, Dillon Francis, Gaslamp Killer, Gesaffelstein, Brodinski, Fake Blood, and Bootsy Collins and the Funky Unity Band, as well as DJ sets from both Chromeo and The Bloody Beetroots.

Miike Snow have launched an interactive scavenger hunt where they want fans to search for the perfect human. The band believes there are ten important parts to make the perfect human, and they have hidden each of these parts all across the internet. All of the fans who participate in the challenge and complete it will receive an exclusive remix of a track from their brand new album Happy To You, and will also be entered to win a Miike Snow prize pack. The prize pack consists of a mug, poster, vinyl and a jackalope, so head here to begin searching.

[News] Miike Snow, Lykke Li Form New Collective/Label: 'Ingrid'

Swedish artist Miike Snow and Lykke Li, along with Peter Bjorn & John and The Teddybears, have come together to create a new collective/record label named Ingrid. As the promotional video for the label states, the collective was created with with the intent of “creating straight from the heart right to the people without any middle hands,” which gives the artists involved the “opportunity for creation, collaboration, and compilation sonically and visually.” With this in mind, the artists involved in the label will continue to work with their current record labels.
