Back in the day before Rjd2 was "THE RJD2" that we know and love now he was DJ of the Columbus, Ohio rap collective MHz which was fomed by Copywrite, Jakki Da Motamouth, Tage (Proto) Future, RJ and the late great Camu Tao. The group's first and only album Table Scraps is one of my favorite hip hop albums which introduced me to Copywrite and Camu, as well as some of the first RJD2 productions. Now the collective have reformed under the name MHz Legacy in honor of their fallen brother Camu and are set to release their new self-titled album on October 30th, MHz Legacy, which marks the group's first album in a decade.
The new LP features 17 new cuts from the MHz crew with RJD2 producing 6 new cuts and also features guest appearances from some of hip hop's best past and present like Danny Brown, Blu, Slug (of Atmosphere), ILL BILL, Slaine, Icebird's Aaron Livingston and Oh No, as well as a number of never-before-heard verses from the late Camu Tao. With new Camu verses and new RJ tracks alone, I know this album is going to have my money thrown at it. If that doesn't convince you to do the same take a listen to this album cut titled "Satisfied" featuring Slug of Atmosphere and is produced by RJD2.

Columbus, OH emcee Copywrite's latest opus The Life And Times Of Peter Nelson dropped yesterday and it is a certified banger, IMO. The album features alot of highlight tracks like "Y.O.G.A Stretch", the Camu Tao produced "Rob Da Bank" and MHz return track "Mega Mega" which takes it back to classic underground sound and 2 RJD2 produced bangers, the Camu dedicated track "Forever And A Day" featuring Middle Distance Runner and "Tic Toc" (which you can hear below).
It's always nice to hear Copy getting back to his roots, especially collaborating with RJD2 (would love to see an album from those two). Also, rumor has it that a video for "Tic Toc" will be dropping soon. Can't wait! Pick this one up now here.

In 2002 Copywrite released his debut album T.H.E. High Exhaulted that was columniation of a partnership with producer RJD2. This LP gained notoriety and quickly became a classic. Unfortunately, due to inept planning and lack of forethought on the label (Eastern Conference Records) behalf the album quickly became unavailable and out of print.
However, Copy's label Man Bites Dog Records announced today that they would release a reissue of the album titled T.H.E. High Exhaulted 8th Anniversary Edition which would be available June 1st 2010 at most fine retailers worldwide. This edition of the album will include 7-new songs, bridging the gap between the younger battle hungry MC of the original T.H.E. High Exhaulted release and the more experienced emcee that Copywrite has become today.

I've been waiting for this track ever since Copy let me know about it on twitter a few months back. Copywrite's newest single Forever And A Day, featuring Middle Distance Runner and produced by fellow MHZ member RJD2, mainly reflects on his relationship with Tero Smith aka hip hop legend Camu Tao but is also a homage to those we lost. This song is deep and incredibly dope, shouts to Copywrite, RJ and Middle Distance Runner for another classic that will forever be on repeat.
