[Watch] Jimmy Fallon and The Roots Pay Tribute to MCA, Coldplay Covers "(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!)"
Following the devastating passing of Beastie Boys member Adam "MCA" Yauch last Friday, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots paid tribute on Friday's episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. After giving a brief statement, Fallon delivered a video montage honoring MCA, which gave footage from the Beastie Boys 2009 appearance on the show. Afterwards, The Roots performed covers of "Sure Shot," "Remote Control," and "Sabotage" throughout the show. After the jump, you can stream the entirety of Friday's episode (Fallon’s montage is at the 11:40, and The Roots’ cover of “Sure Shot” can be seen at the 4:15. The other covers performed by The Roots can be seen before and after each break) as well as the 2009 appearance of the Beastie Boys on the show.
Another tribute paid to the passing of MCA comes from Coldplay, who performed a cover of "(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!)" during their Friday night performance at the Hollywood Bowl. Watch the acoustic, piano-led cover after the jump.

[Listen] Pulled Apart by Horses - "Blue Jeans" (Lana Del Rey Cover) (in Radio One's Live Lounge)
By now you know that we have more than a small soft spot for the Leeds noisemakers know as Pulled Apart By Horses. Today they were the guests on Fearne Cotton's BBC Radio One show and they were there to have a chat along with play some tunes in the Live Lounge. First up they played their single "Wolf Hand" but you know why we're here and why they were there, a cover. The band put in a cover of Lana Del Rey's "Blue Jeans" putting their own mark on it leaving the final product almost unrecognisable upon first listen. Seriously, these guys just know how to have fun and they do it oh so well. Check it out below and head over to the official BBC website for more info.
Their latest album Tough Love is out now so go pick up a copy.
[Watch] Bon Iver Covers The Band's "Ophelia"
Last week, The Band's famed multi-instrumentalist Levon Helm passed away, and since then numerous musicians from across the board, including The Black Keys, have since paid tribute following his passing. Included in that is Bon Iver, who, during a show in San Francisco, covered The Band's "Ophelia," which you can watch above via Hidden Tracks.
[Listen] Mastodon - "A Spoonful Weighs a Ton" (Flaming Lips Cover)
Last week we got to preview the awesome sounding release from Feist and Mastodon that they put out for Record Store Day. Speaking of, we hope you had an awesome day on Saturday and managed to get everything you wanted! As well as that release with Feist, Mastodon offered up a cover of The Flaming Lips' 1999 track "A Spoonful Weighs A Ton". Of course as with most things on tumblr that have a fan base, Mastodon have a Fuck Yeah site who, following RSD, posted up the track which can now be streamed below. We'll be throwing up more RSD releases throughout the morning so be prepared for some more awesome coming your way.
[Listen] Japandroids - "Jack The Ripper" (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds Cover)
We loved Japandroids new single "The House That Heaven Built" that we put it on our latest Some Kind of Mixtape. It's a corker! Today though, Stereogum points to the B-Side of that track which is actually them covering Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds’ 1992 single "Jack The Ripper". It's pretty tasty too. I for one cannot wait for Celebration Rock which drops on the 5th of June via Polyvinyl.
