[Watch] Action Bronson Performs "Strictly 4 My Jeeps" at a Retirement Home

"I don't care about Coachella, or nowhere in New York, or the Garden. All about St. Hilda's." These are the words of Action Bronson before he entered St. Hilda's retirement home in London, where he performed his single "Strictly 4 My Jeeps" live in front of a group of bewildered seniors. While they weren't particularly fans of the music—"You can't understand what they're saying. It's far too quick."—the audience enjoyed Bronson's quirky antics and good-natured humor. In the end, he got an average score of 5.2. Not bad for his first showing at St. Hilda's.

[Listen] Cyril Hahn Drops Groovy New B-side, "Raw Cut"

Producer Cyril Hahn's recent foray into original work—he released his fantastic debut single "Perfect Form" last month—showed a lot of promise, and his new track "Raw Cut" is even better. Serving as b-side to the previously mentioned "Perfect Form," this latest cut is a journey in groove-laden goodness. It moves along with precision, adding layers in typical electronic fashion yet never feels overdone or cliche. Catchy basslines are met with pulsating 808 kicks only to elevate with atmospheric synthesizers and slick guitar riffs. It really is excellent, deserving of more than just b-side status. Check it out below.

The "Perfect Form" single will be released on September 9th through PMR Records.

[Listen] Stream RJD2's New Single "Her Majesty’s Socialist Request"

RJD2 described the sounds on his upcoming fifth album More Is Than Isn't as "ranging from subdued jazz-tinged pieces to bombastic club music, and a lot of funk in between." Want to hear an example of this? "Her Majesty's Socialist Request" is the first piece we've heard off the LP and it brings a lot of different influences to the table. The offering spins an elaborate web of sounds, from gritty guitar riffs to Middle Eastern Ney flute to intricate, glitchy synthesizers to jazz piano. It's pretty inconsistent, unsure of where it wants to go, but it's worth hearing how RJ weaves this instrumental number together.

More Is Than Isn't is out on October 8th.

More Is Than Isn’t Tracklist:
01. Suite 1
02. Temperamental feat. Phonte Coleman
03. Behold, Numbers!
04. Her Majesty’s Socialist Request
05. A Lot of Night Ahead of You
06. Bathwater feat. P. Blackk
07. Milk Tooth
08. Suite 2
09. Winter Isn’t Coming
10. See You Leave feat. STS and Khari Mateen

[Watch] The 1975 - "Sex" (Official Video)

We recently got to enjoy the new version of The 1975's single "Sex" and now they've let loose the visual for it. Breaking from their normal black and white aesthetic they opt for a colour narrative, alongside a performance from the band too. It works pretty well and Matt from the band had a lot to say about the idea which you can read after the jump.

The band are set to release their self-titled debut on September 9th via Dirty Hit/Polydor.

The main idea behind the new video for “Sex” was centered around us wanting to incorporate a narrative that acted out the lyrical content of the song. It felt important for the narrative to be the true story of lyrics. So many of our tracks are based on real experiences, it was integral to have an honest portrayal of this. The make up of our music is centered around the juxtaposition of very honest often self deprecating personal stories set against uplifting major chord progressions. It is this dualism and notion of “sound tracking” our own lives which makes us cite John Hughes as such an important influence.  Our love of cinematic music really drives us creatively and we wanted this represented in the video, we wanted to make a trailer to the movie of the song if you like.”

“We really love the dualism in the video between the muted almost black and white performance shots of the band set against the cinematic colour of the narrative. We have used black and white for every other video to date so it seemed like incorporating colour would be a massive step for us to make, in reality the creative decision made itself as we liked the obvious separation that the colour provided for the narrative against the performance parts of the video. Our album and EP’s are totally separate entities, each EP is like a polaroid of a specific time and place, in regards to the visuals of the album, we want to make short films for our videos - like trailers almost, in the same way our songs are the narrative to our formative years the videos are the narrative to those songs. As a video “Sex” feels very un compromised, un predictable and from a artistic viewpoint very honest. That is always our main goal as a band. We are very proud of it. We found a true collaborative spirit with Adam Powell the director it was our desire to work with him and his passion and understanding towards our vision that led us to shooting in LA.

[Listen] Arctic Monkeys - "Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?"

Another new Arctic Monkeys track has hit the web and it's a good'un. The track will feature on their highly anticipated new release AM and it goes by the name of "Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?". Is it me or has Alex and the gang got a thing with asking questions at the moment? The track feels a little hip-hop in its beat but remains every bit as Monkeys as we've come to expect, both lyrically and musically. We've already heard "Do I Wanna Know?" from the album along with the B-Side, "2013", and this is another great addition to the catalogue. See what you make of it below via Tumblr.

AM is set for release on September 9th via Domino.

[Album Stream] Listen to AlunaGeorge's Debut Album, 'Body Music'

AlunaGeorge's hotly anticipated debut album Body Music is out next Tuesday (July 29th) and they've graciously given everyone the chance to stream it in full beforehand. Check out all thirteen tracks from the record, as well as six bonus songs, including a cover of Montell Jordan's "This Is How We Do It." Stream it below.

More on the London duo, Aluna Francis and George Reid stopped by Rinse FM's studio to perform a live version of "You Know You Like It." The rendition is stripped down, relying on Francis' crisp vocals and Reid's echoing piano chords for effect. The result is pretty damn fantastic.
