[Watch] The Postal Service's Decade-long History Chronicled in New Documentary
The Postal Service have been the focus of a lot of attention this year. Their reunion was a surprise for many, as the band—Ben Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello and Jenny Lewis—released only one album, Give Up, and that was ten years ago. It seemed like the project would live on solely through that record. That, of course, changed, and this year has seen them headlining festivals, selling out arenas and proving that, ten years later, The Postal Service still means something. That feeling is central to The Creators Project's new documentary. Directed by Justin Mitchell, the short film examines the history of the group, from the release of Give Up to their recent resurgence. It's incredible to see the impact they have had, despite not existing as a group for so long. Watch below and transport yourself back to 2003.
Speaking on the film, Mitchell describes what he hoped to achieve with his aesthetic direction:
I've been looking for a project to use prisms on for a while and much like the multiple frames, I think they help to support the story of the band. For me the prisms represent a gathering of all the disparate energies that propelled the album upwards and onwards during the last ten years. The band might be the center of the image and the focus but for ten years they allowed Give Up to live its own life and somehow, all that outside energy resulted in a platinum album. Now, as Ben says, they get to reclaim it and I think the prism (which just looked so much cooler in slow motion) helps to show that."

[Watch] Franz Ferdinand Share Avant-garde Video for "Love Illumination"
Franz Ferdinand are never ones to shy away from experimenting. Hell, after more than ten years as a band they've maintained a captivating yet odd sense of humor and creativity. That is immediately apparent in their new video for "Love Illumination," the second single from the upcoming album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action.
The video, directed by Tim Saccenti, is a performance clip, yes, but it's so much more than that. It delves into all sorts of weird avenues, screwing with your mind by juxtaposing the band with colorful dancers and characters, elaborate sets, and vivid imagery, only to switch back to the band wearing animal masks. There's even a hint of nudity. Very avant-garde, indeed.
Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action is out on August 27th.

[Watch] Biffy Clyro - "Victory Over The Sun" (Official Video)
It's fair to say Biffy Clyro have a pretty loyal fan base of both old fans and new. I don't know if I'd go as far as to say it's a cult though but in the visual for their new single "Victory Over The Sun" that's what it appears Simon Neil is the leader of. The track is taken from the bands fantastic double LP, Opposites, that went number one in the UK back in February. Check out the fire filled video below and be sure to pick up the single from September 8th.
The band will headline Leeds and Reading festival in late August.

How about some new music from Childish Gambino to start off your Hump Day? Mr. Glover offers up an impressive 6 minute track titled "Centipede" which features a flurry of his many talents, bar his acting of course. [Listen] The Vaccines - "Everybody's Gonna Let You Down"
The Vaccines return with a brand new track taken from their upcoming Melody Calling EP. The release will comprise four new tracks, including a remix by producers John Hill and Rich Costey, and will be released on August 12 via download. Today though you can enjoy a slightly different sounding, more mellow, rather sad and reflective song titled "Everybody's Gonna Let You Down". It's definitely a more mature sound from the band. See what you make of it below.
