[Listen] The Prodigy - "Firestarter" (Death Grips Remix)
I remember being about 7-8 years old and my Grandparents owned a pub. I used to get coins off of them before the pub opened for business and put music on really loudly via the jukebox. I remember vividly dancing to The Prodigy's "Firestarter" repeatedly like I was possessed by some otherworldly demon. My Granddad once caught me and I still to this day have never been so embarrassed. It's one of those tracks that just makes you want to move.
At the end of last year the legendary UK band actually released an extended edition of The Fat of the Land complete with some bonus remixes. Not included on that release though was what we have on offer for you here; a remix from Death Grips. Check out their rework of the classic track that once caused me great embarrassment below and get your Friday off to a great start. If you're going to dance though, ake sure you're alone. Or drunk.
[Listen] Tribes - "Dancehall"
We've given Tribes a lot of love over the past year and a half, and in my eyes it's truly deserved. Their debut album, Baby, was a truly great release. Fast forward just 15 months and they're preparing to release the follow up to it. I've got to say it's pretty damn good too. It's different but a nice growth that should propel them up the ranks of festival bills. Today you can preview another new track from the band called "Dancehall". A track that s sure to have the lighters raised at gigs and arms swaying. Complete with guitar solo and a piano led intro it's a nice taste of what you can expect on Wish To Scream which is released on May 20th.
[Watch] Palma Violets - "We Found Love" (Official Video)
When I was first introduced to Palma Violets, they'd been booked last minute to support Alabama Shakes at a Manchester show some point early on last year. They rolled up on stage in weirdly fitting suits much akin to Dwight in The Office, and just gave it everything. I was pretty impressed in all honesty. Fast forward to 2013 and they're making big waves, not just here in the UK, but Stateside too. This weekend they'll play Coachella and in anticipation for that they've let loose the party-centric video for their track "We Found Love" which features on their debut, 180. Get excited for the weekend ahead by hitting play above.

[Watch] Polly Scattergood - "Wanderlust" (Official Video)
Late last year we were introduced to Polly Scattergood via a track called "Disco Damaged Kid" and it was a nice little taste of what was to come from the talent on her second album. Today we get a video for the track "Wanderlust" which is to appear on the release which will drop on Mute in June. Get a touch of déjà vu and hit play on the video above. Lovely stuff.
[Listen] Bedroom - "Grow"
It has been a few months since we've heard from SKOA friend Bedroom, aka Nashville's Noah Kittinger. The bedroom artist is back, though, bringing with him an appropriately titled new single. "Grow" has Kittinger reflecting on his past, pairing his reminiscing with delicate acoustic guitar riffs. As the song progresses, his lyrics begin aiming towards the future just as the instrumentation expands and flourishes. It's a subtle touch, but the literal "growth" of both the lyrics and the sounds adds great depth to the song. Check it out below or on SoundCloud.
"Grow" is simply stated as being "off of an upcoming album", so expect more from Bedroom in the near future.
[Listen] Queens of the Stone Age - "My God is the Sun"
The wait is over. Well, technically it ended last weekend when Queens of the Stone Age debuted this track, "My God is the Sun" at Lolla Brazil but you know, now we get the crisp, clean, studio version! Debuted moments ago on BBC Radio One by Zane Lowe, we can now enjoy it repeatedly below. It's set to feature on their highly anticipated album ...Like Clockwork which is due out in June via the band's new label Matador Records. It's good to have them back and I most certainly can't wait to hear the other contributions from Alex Turner, Trent Reznor, Sir elton John, Joey Castillo, Nick Oliveri, Mark Lanegan, Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears, and James Lavelle of UNKLE on the full length. June can't come soon enough.
[Album Stream] Iron & Wine - 'Ghost on Ghost'
Iron & Wine's newest album Ghost on Ghost is set for release in one week, but before that day comes Samuel Beam has a treat for everyone. The entirety of Beam's fifth studio album is now streaming over at NPR.org. The LP, the follow-up to 2011's Kiss Each Other Clean, is described by Beam as "a reward to myself after the way I went about making the last few". Check it out and let us know your thoughts.
Ghost on Ghost is out on April 16th via Nonesuch Records.
