[News] Justin Timberlake Announces 'The 20/20 Experience' Pt. 2, Fall Tour Dates

Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience, his first album in six years, is the result of a lot of hard work, but the recording sessions left Timberlake with more than one album worth of material. It's been rumored that he would be releasing a follow-up to his newest LP this fall, and now it's been confirmed. Taking to his Facebook page Timberlake posted the photo above, and it looks like we can expect The 20/20 Experience Pt. 2 on September 30th.

This summer, Timberlake will team up with Jay-Z for a stadium tour. Now, Timberlake has added to his tour schedule, expanding it to include another North American leg in the fall. Starting on Halloween, "The 20/20 Experience World Tour" will take the singer all across the continent, with things wrapping up in Omaha on February 10th. Check out all of the dates after the jump.

[News] Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros Releasing New Album in July

Less than a year after releasing their sophomore album Here, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros have announced a third full-length record. Yet to be titled, the album will be released on July 23rd and stemmed from the same sessions as Here:

In the middle of the recording process we realized we were essentially making a double album. Being four years since our last album, the writing explored a wide variety of subject and sound, as it turned out we had a lot to say,” explained the band’s Alex Ebert in a statement. “Instead of putting it out all at once, we found that two different albums seemed to be forming. Alone these albums are albums. Together these albums express a varying and so relatively living portrait of our lives."

No other details on the album just yet, but we'll keep you posted as more information arrives. For now, there are plenty of chances for you to see the band live.

UPDATE: According to a new press release, the album is self-titled. Pictured above is the official artwork, and below is the full tracklisting.

2. Let's Get High

3. Two

4. Please!

5. Life is Hard

6. If I Were Free

[News] Mayer Hawthorne Announces New Album 'Where Does This Door Go'

Mayer Hawthorne is back with another album full of soulful croons and funk ballads. Following up 2011's How Do You Do is his third album entitled Where Does This Door Go, which will be released on July 16th. Featuring production from Pharrell Williams and more, this new LP sees Hawthorne growing up and exploring "a journey into the unknown. As a musician, you’re only as good as your next record, and you never know what’s through that next door."

For now, all we have is an album announcement trailer featuring footage from The Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland and several other films. While not confirmed to be on the album, there's a good chance Hawthorne's recent funk jam "Designer Drug" might make an appearance. Stream it below.

[News] of Montreal Releasing New Album in the Fall

of Montreal frontman Kevin Barnes took to the band's Tumblr and revealed some exciting news. Following up last year's Paralytic Stalks, the band will release a new album titled Lousy with Sylvianbriar this fall. Here's what Barnes had to say:

I’m so happy to say that we’ve just finished a new album! It is titled “lousy with sylvianbriar”. We recorded it in my home studio on a 24 track tape machine. It is pretty different from Paralytic Stalks. Definitely more G Parsons than K Penderecki this time around. I wrote most of the songs while on a self imposed isolation experiment in San Francisco earlier this year, and we recorded it, over a two week period, about a month after i got back to Athens. I was influenced by the poetry of Sylvia Plath (hence the reference in the title), plus artists like the Grateful Dead, Neil Young, Flying Burrito Brothers…I can’t wait to share it with you! It won’t come out until the Fall though so I just have to be patient."

[News] James Murphy Confident LCD Soundsystem Won't Reunite

Just over two years ago, LCD Soundsystem performed their farewell concert, a moment that saddened fans but celebrated the life of an amazing band. Last year James Murphy considered reuniting the band to record a song, but it seems he has changed his mind. With all of the former band members busy with their own projects, Murphy contemplated the possibility of a reunion. He recently took to the LCD Soundsystem Facebook page, saying:

pat is in the studio working on his new thing, al is on tour with hot chip and making new things as new build, tyler is off in berlin being tyler and dj’ing and making music and mixes, nancy is dj’ing in europe and working on new music with the juan and others, gavin and matt are touring and making things in the crystal ark, DSS just did that crazy beck sound and vision 360 thing, and i’m home moving furniture and cleaning up today after a stint of doing some dj’ing and producing. all in all it’s pretty good.
i fully respect and appreciate that people miss us as a band–it’s a huge compliment–but i also realize that we the band are just friends and we make things together and eat food together, and STILL ALL GO OUT AND DO THINGS, just not all together as LCD.
some come see us do our various things and say hi! it’s been so nice to get to know a bunch of really good people in a totally different context to the “big-ish band getting bigger” way we were a little stuck in.
thanks to everyone for being so amazingly supportive and nice to us.
i guess that’s my candy-assed thought for the day… now back to unpacking kitchen stuff.
-j

Seems like a LCD Soundsystem is highly unlikely, at least for the time being.

[News] Wild Nothing Announces New 'Empty Estate' EP

Wild Nothing's sophomore album Nocturne was a blissful dreamscape, seemingly overlooked as one of last year's great dream pop records. Jack Tatum quickly returns, bringing us a new EP titled Empty Estate. Recorded this past January, the EP sees Tatum "exploring new sounds, new instruments and a new voice for Wild Nothing."

"A Dancing Shell" is our first sense of what to expect from the seven-track EP, a bright track glistening with snythesizers. The bassline alone is fantastic, plucking along with confidence. Tatum's vocals are also much more expansive than before, drifting from monotone deepness to reverbed airiness. I like what I'm hearing. Check out the song below alongside it's colorful, geometric video.

Empty Estate Tracklist:
01. The Body In Rainfall
02. Ocean Repeating (Big-eyed Girl)
03. On Guyot
04. Ride
05. Data World
06. A Dancing Shell
07. Hachiko
