[News] Damon Albarn, Amadou & Mariam, Charli XCX, and More to Tour by Train as Africa Express
As Damon Albarn nears the 2012 London Summer Olympics, where he and the rest of Blur will perform at the closing ceremony, he's already planned what he will do afterwards. One month after the closing ceremony performance, Albarn will be joined by numerous artists to form the Africa Express collective, who will tour around the UK by train (it seems everyone is doing this nowadays). According to Pitchfork, Africa Express comprises of Albarn, Amadou & Miriam, Charli XCX, Jack Steadman of Bombay Bicycle Club, Kano, Baloji, and more. The collective has six scheduled stops throughout their UK rail tour, but they will have "pop-up performances at railway stations, schools, factories, offices, shopping centers, and homes" and will even be writing new material together along the way.
Check out all of the scheduled stops of the Africa Express tour after the jump.
[News] SBTRKT Announces Fall Tour

Check out his full tour schedule after the jump, and who knows, maybe you'll get to hear his new single "Gloss" live.
[News] Caribou's Dan Snaith Announces Full-Length Daphni Release
Dan Snaith, aka Caribou, has been making music under the Daphni alter-ego for over a year and a half now, but that has been limited to remixes and solo tracks. Now, though, Snaith will be putting out a full-length release under the Daphni moniker this fall. Titled JIAOLONG (the same name of Snaith's label), the album was inspired by Snaith's time DJing in clubs while touring as Caribou, and here's what he had to say about how the album came to be:
I'd fallen back in love with moments in small, dark clubs when a DJ puts on a piece of music that not only can you not identify but that until you heard it, you could not have conceived of it existing. In contrast to live concerts where bands predictably string together the songs from their most recent album, DJs have the potential to blindside you, be genuinely surprising. As a music producer, the parameters of dance music seem wider. The rhythmic underpinnings are liberating rather than constraining, allowing the rest of the elements to coalesce from a broad palette.
He continues, saying:
I've been surprised by the number of transcendent moments that I, sober and in my mid-30s, have had in clubs in the last few years, both as a punter and as a DJ. Against my expectations, there's some magic in it still. The clichés about the collective consciousness of clubs still seems to hold water in some special cases. Set against the backdrop of bland and functional dance music and the mind-numbing predictability of the EDM barfsplosion currently gripping the corporate ravesters, there is a small world where dance music lives up to its potential to liberate, surprise, and innovate. It's there that I hope Daphni has a place.
JIAOLONG is out on October 16th in North America via Merge/Jiaolong, and on October 9th digitally. After the jump, you can check out the album tracklisting as well as the video for his 2011 single "Ye Ye", which was directed by Jane/Eastlight.
[News] Wild Nothing Announces Fall Tour with DIIV, Six Alternate Covers for 'Nocturne'
Jack Tatum, aka Wild Nothing, will hit the road this fall in support of his forthcoming sophomore LP Nocturne, which is set for release at the end of August. Following Wild Nothing's summer tour opening for both The Walkmen and Beach House, the fall leg will see Tatum opening for Brooklyn indie band DIIV, with proceedings kicking off on September 3rd in Santa Barbara, CA. Check out his full tour itinerary after the jump.
Nocturne is out on August 28th via Captured Tracks, and above you can see the six alternate versions of the album's cover. For those who purchase the album on vinyl, they will have the option to choose one of these six variations.
[News] Kendrick Lamar Announces Fall Tour Dates
Kendrick Lamar will headline this fall's installment of BET's Music Matters tour series, with the 23-city tour kicking off in Norfolk, VA on September 7th. In the middle of the tour, Lamar's studio debut good kid, m.A.A.d. city will see release, specifically on October 2nd via Aftermath/Interscope, so the tour will likely see the Compton rapper premiering a large amount of new material live. Check out the full tour schedule after the jump, with multiple venues still to be announced, and below you can stream his newest single "Swimming Pools (Drank)".
[News] Indians Announces North American Tour
Copenhagen solo musician Indians has made quite the impression on me, despite having only released two songs, both "Magic Kids" and "I Am Haunted". Either way, Indians has been making immense progress so far this year, and that has turned into a great opportunity supporting indie rock outfit Other Lives during their North American tour this fall. The massive tour will kick off on October 19th in Boulder, CO, and will take both bands all across the continent for a total of 36 shows in 50 days. Check out the full tour schedule after the jump.
