[SKOA PREMIERE] + [SONG OF THE DAY] Stalking Gia - "PTSD"

F - R - I - D - A - Y

Proud to be going local today for this Some Kind of Awesome Premiere. Today NYC-based alt-pop powerhouse Stalking Gia has unveiled her brand new single, “PTSD”, an infectious poptastic little number that touches upon the aftermath of an emotionally traumatic experience. Gonna be honest, it’s been wild to watch Stalking Gia climb the ranks since the first time I saw her open for Dragonette at Bowery Ballroom back in 2015. Fast forward to present day where the songstress will be supporting blackbear at The Red Rocks Amphitheater this very night! That was almost 3 years ago to the day.

In addition to opening for blackbear tonight, “PTSD” is the first release from her upcoming project, which was executive produced by blackbear and released on his label, beartrap. As you’ll recall, the two met collaborating on blackbear’s “Digital Druglord” album with his song “Wish You The Best,” which sampled Gia’s “Second Nature”. The two have highly anticipated duet, “Miracles”, which will be on her forthcoming EP which drops later this year.

I’m so excited to see what this new era of Gia brings! She’s certainly earned all the good things coming to her!

[Download] Dragonette - "Rocket Ship"

credit: Kristin VicariFollowing up tracks, "Let It Go" and "The Right Woman" today we have a third new track from Dragonette called "Rocket Ship". All three tracks will be on their forthcoming third studio album titled Bodyparts and is slated for a September 25th release (24th in the UK). The trio just kicked off a contest today in partnership with Talenthouse where fans have been given the lyrics to a track from the new album called "Untouchable" and are being challenged to create a version of the song themselves without being able to hear the band's version first. The lucky winner of the contest will have their version included as a b-side of the single when it is launched in addition to a bunch of other prizes. You can learn more about the contest here.

The band have a few tour dates coming up over the next couple of months before kicking off a proper tour in September where they will be joining NYC's very own The Knocks for select dates.

[Watch] Dragonette - "Let It Go" (Official Video)

Yesterday Canadian electro-pop trio Dragonette unveiled this fun little video for their latest single, "Let It Go". I now have a fear of being abducted and forced to dance around for people in a lab. Great. For those of you who were lucky enough to head out to Coachella last month, you no undoubtedly were smart enough to catch their multiple sets over those weekends. The trio also recently won a JUNO Award for their hit with Martin Solveig, "Hello".

The band will also be hitting the road in North American this fall with The Knocks after a few dates in their homeland of Canada right in the middle of summer. Have a look at dates below. Make sure you grab the remix EP for "Let It Go" if you haven't already.
