[Download] Two Tracks From Wavves Frontman Nathan Williams’ New Band Spirit Club
Nathan Williams has been keeping himself busy recently with more than one project, and he seems to be really enjoying himself in the process. While we await more new music from Wavves, he's teamed up with his brother, and Andrew Caddick for a release under the moniker of Spirit Club. Dropping the two tracks as a surprise yesterday via Twitter, you can see what he has to say about it below:
Alright ppl I'll post 7" art, two new songs and media fire link in next five min. The songs were all written and recorded at my house

The tracks themselves are fuzzy, hazy, laid back tunes with a little less angst than some of his more recent Wavves releases. No official word on whether or not an official release is coming but I'd say from looking at the back cover of the release above, that they'll drop via his own Ghost Ramp label. Grab yourself the new tunes "Eye Dozer" and "Sling" below. I for one am liking the tunes and will happily take almost anything Nathan throws out. Heck, I still use "King of the Beach" as my ring tone 4 years on! (Damn, I didn't actually realise it'd been 4 years since that album dropped!)
[Watch] Wavves debut GTA V featuring "Nine Is God" live on Conan
Tomorrow marks the day many of us will be "sick" and have to stay home from work. The world could go into melt down for all we know. Forget about the Y2K bug 'cause tomorrow is release day for GTA V, the most expensive game ever created. It actually cost more to make than most Hollywood Blockbusters, second only to Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. There's some useless pub quiz knowledge for your Monday morning. As is the standard with Grand Theft Auto we can expect a vast array of entertaining radio stations and DJ's to keep us company as we roam the incredibly large map. One of said radio stations will be hosted by none other than Nathan Williams of Wavves and last week the band debuted a brand new track live on Conan that they've created especially for the game. Titled "Nine Is God" you can check out the performance above. Peep "Afraid of Heights" below too while you're at it. Notice Nathan's ltd ed "Los Santos" snapback.
Prepare your excuses for your boss tomorrow. Lucky for me I am the boss and I've already handed myself a doctor's note stating I will be out of action for the foreseeable future!
[Watch] Wavves Cut Shit Up in the Clip for "That's On Me"
A portly middle-aged man has the time of his life in Wavves' new video for "That's On Me." Wielding axes, swords and all kinds of slicey weapons, the man cuts up a bunch of shit while being cheered on by a trio of cheerleaders. It's fun watching stuff get sliced in slow motion. Oh yeah, and the cheerleaders eat a bunch of greasy, saucy meat. This one is definitely not for the vegans and vegetarians out there.
[News] Outside Lands 2013 Announces Lineup
The official lineup for Outside Lands Festival 2013 is here, and it looks to be pretty good. Topping off the bill are Paul McCartney, Nine Inch Nails, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The National, Vampire Weekend, D’Angelo, Kaskade, Pretty Lights, Jurassic 5, Willie Nelson, Hall and Oates, and Grizzly Bear.
Rounding out the eclectic lineup are Wavves, Young The Giant, Band of Horses, A-Trak, Yeasayer, Matt & Kim, The Tallest Man on Earth, Foals, Youth Lagoon, Gary Clark Jr., Jessie Ware, Dillon Francis, Kurt Vile and the Violators, Surfer Blood, Chromatics and Smith Westerns. While not as good as last year's lineup, which was headlined by Metallica, Neil Young, The Kills, Foo Fighters, Jack White, Beck, Sigur Ros, this year seems promising. Check out the full lineup here or below in a ridiculously charming announcement video.
Tickets go on sale this Thursday, April 18th, at 12 noon PDT at the festival's official website. Outside Lands takes place August 9-11 in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.
[Watch] Wavves - "Demon to Lean On" Live on Letterman
Last night Nathan Williams brought his depressing yet catchy tunes to late night telly with his band Wavves. Bringing along a performance of "Demon to Lean On" to the Ed Sullivan theater and the Late Show with David Letterman the performance was raw and on point. The track features on the newly released album, Afraid of Heights. When the guitars are left to let rip this performance rocks, but I'm not quite sold on Nathan with minimal backing, maybe it was an off day. Still rather enjoyed it though. See what you make of it above.
[Watch] Wavves - "Afraid of Heights" (Official Video)
The mind of Nathan Williams is difficult to understand. One moment he visualizes a garbage dump society of kids, and the next he's thinking about cross-dressing serial killers. The latter is what you will find in his new video for "Afraid of Heights". It's weird, it's fucked up, it's Wavves.
Wavves' new album Afraid of Heights is out today on Mom + Pop Records.
[Album Stream] Wavves - 'Afraid of Heights'
So summer is a few months away, yeah, I know it doesn't feel like it and the weather pretty much sucks everywhere right now, but how about we listen to some music that makes you want to go driving along the coast with the top down? I'm talking about the new album from Wavves titled Afraid of Heights. It's not set to be released until next week but the good folk at NPR are streaming it a week early and it's a raw and powerful, anxiety filled 45 minute romp through fuzzy guitars and sing along choruses. Perfect to start your week to.
Afraid of Heights is officially released on March 26th via Mom & Pop.

Wavves imagine a world where kids live in a junkyard, donning Mad Max-esque clothing, eating meat and wrestling for fun. Led by frontman Nathan Williams, these kids come across a wandering boy who appeared in the junkyard after he was unknowingly towed there in his father's car. If it teaches us anything, it's that a) drivers shouldn't park in tow zones, and b) parents shouldn't leave their kids in illegally parked cars. Let this serve as a warning to everyone out there.
Afraid of Heights, Wavves' new album, drops on March 26th on Mom + Pop Records.
