[Watch] Tom Waits - "Hell Broke Luce" (Official Video)
The music blogosphere was wrapped up in speculation after Tom Waits gave us this image, and now that August 7th has arrived, what could the surprise be? How about a new music video. No, not a new album, or tour dates. No. It's just a new music video for "Hell Broke Luce". At least it's a visually exciting video, with intense, apocalyptic imagery abound, and not to mention shark submarines! As most of you guessed, it’s a tour…a tour de force!
Matt Mahurin has created an apocalyptic war dream to accompany the song HELL BROKE LUCE. Kathleen [Brennan] and I envisioned it as an enlightened drill sergeant yelling the hard truths of war to a brand new batch of recruits. The video grew from the gnawing image of a soldier pulling his home, through a battlefield, at the end of a rope.
I think you will agree, it’s uplifting and fun."

On Monday evening we saw Tom Waits perform "Chicago" on the Late Show with David Letterman. Last night he made another late night appearance with a visit to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. He performed another track from Bad as Me, "Raised Right Men", and even sat down with Jimmy for a brief chat. The video itself was directed by Jesse Dylan son of the legend that is Robert Zimmerman (Bob Dylan). The video is a black and white affair featuring Waits going about his business in a grotty little place with some flashing lights for company. Peep it after the jump via Pitchfork.

[Listen] Tom Waits - "After You Die" x "Tell Me"
After releasing Bad as Me to a world filled with adorning fans, Tom Waits still has some little gems of musical goodness left on the cutting room floor. Today we can hear two cuts that didn't make the LP. First up is the acoustic filled "After You Die" which you can check out courtesy of Antiquiet. Secondly is the equally brilliant track "Tell Me" which can be heard below also. This time you need to thank TwentyFourBit for the heads up on what is an equally delicate and glorious track. Give them both a spin and if you haven't picked up Bad as Me yet you can do so over here. I wonder if any other little secrets will appear form the studio trash can in the coming months.

Spin have offered up this video of St. Vincent laying down a few tracks during her recent cover shoot for Spin Magazine. After performing her recent track "Surgeon" which was welcomed warmly by the internet she decided to offer up a performance of Tom Waits' track, "Tango Till They're Sore".
