[Listen] Kanye West - "Lost In The World" (DJ Tiësto Remix)

Over a year ago, DJ Tiësto remixed Kanye West’s "Lost In The World" the epic album closer on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Since then he's had problems getting clearance to use it etc. Note the use of the word had. He's now featured the track on a podcast and it can be heard below. 7 minutes of club floor filling music and some warped Justin Vernon to boot. Worth the one year wait? First impressions for me... this won't be sat on my hard-drive for a year like it was Tiesto's. Maybe it'll grow on me though.

[Listen] Joker - "Slaughter House" (Tiesto Remix)

Ok, so I've loving the sounds that the UK talent Joker has been dropping in recent months, but I can't agree with this remix from one of the worlds biggest DJ's, Tiesto. It's a far departure from the chilled out beats Joker has been treating us too and is more of a pie eyed, dance like a fool kind of deal. Not feeling it but give it a listen below and let us know what you think.

[Watch] Calvin Harris - "Awooga" (Video)

Calvin Harris just tweeted the video for his new track titled "Awooga". Considering it's an instrumental track I guess it's a fitting title. The song will be available on Beatport March 21st, so you can pick it up if you so desire.

I have been sitting here for a few minutes trying to force myself to like this, but this really falls short of the standard he's already set for himself. I know last November he said that he was going to focus on DJing and producing thus quitting the singing aspect of his music, but if this is what we're going to be getting from him from now on, he should maybe consider at least throwing someone's vocals on tracks like these. Especially if he's going to put out something that's subpar of what we're used to hearing from him. As I've been writing this post, he just posted a follow up tweet saying that, "Awooga is the first track of many from me this year...some club tracks, some vocal, some me singing, some other people singing!" So perhaps this is somewhat of a false start for his next album?

At least the video is cool. I like the references to things he's talked about on Twitter + Jam TV (RIP).

If anything this song makes me want to listen to Tiesto's "Century", which features vocals from Calvin Harris.

Am I nuts? I just can't throw my heart into this? Would love to hear what you guys think about this new direction he's heading in.

Tiësto has partnered up with SanDisk Corporation, makers of mini flash memory cards for a promotion called Wake Up Your Phone. Tiesto's current contribution to the promotion is a banger of a track called "Work Hard Play Hard" from his What's Next mix that he's made exclusively for the Wake Up Your Phone campaign. The track features Kay, an upcoming Canadian artist.

Throughout the duration of this campaign you will be able to download more tracks from the mix when you purchase a memory card from Sandisk.

Moby Announces New Remix Album, Single - Due Out In May

Spring has sprung and summer albums are being announced. Huzzah!

Our favorite self-proclaimed "little idiot" on Twitter, Moby, has announced details for a remix album for last summer's smashing success Wait For Me. Wait For Me Remixes! is slated for release on May 18th, with a self titled single out May 4th.Moby has enlisted some of dance music’s biggest names for the project including Tiesto, Laidback Luke, Gui Boratto, and Carl Cox. Wait For Me Remixes will be available via digital download and double disc CD, disc 2 being an exclusive Moby DJ mix.

The single comes backed with b-side ‘Gone To Sleep’, a brand new, previously unreleased track, plus an acoustic version of previous single ‘One Time We Lived’, and a hefty remix package including Laidback Luke, Yousef, Paul Kalkbrenner, Jean Elan, Zodiac Cartel, Villa, and Christoffer Berg (Fever Ray).

I'm personally VERY excited about this release, as I was madly in love with Wait For Me. Moby is always at his best when he's on an ambient kick. Hopefully this will just slightly augment that.
