[Listen] The Prodigy - "Firestarter" (Death Grips Remix)

I remember being about 7-8 years old and my Grandparents owned a pub. I used to get coins off of them before the pub opened for business and put music on really loudly via the jukebox. I remember vividly dancing to The Prodigy's "Firestarter" repeatedly like I was possessed  by some otherworldly demon. My Granddad once caught me and I still to this day have never been so embarrassed. It's one of those tracks that just makes you want to move.

At the end of last year the legendary UK band actually released an extended edition of The Fat of the Land complete with some bonus remixes. Not included on that release though was what we have on offer for you here; a remix from Death Grips. Check out their rework of the classic track that once caused me great embarrassment below and get your Friday off to a great start. If you're going to dance though, ake sure you're alone. Or drunk.

[Listen] The Prodigy - "Smack My Bitch Up" (Major Lazer Remix)

I personally have a few really vivid musical memories from being a kid. One is walking in on my Dad playing air guitar on New Year's Eve to Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", and another is getting caught dancing like a maniac to The Prodigy by my Granddad when I must of been about 8 or 9 years old. I always liked the brash and in your face sound of Prodigy's music so I was quite happy to see Major Lazer had offered up a remix of their classic "Smack My Bitch Up" to celebrate the 15th anniversary.

The Fat Of The Land is set to be reissued on December 3rd /4th (US) by XL Recordings to celebrate the album's aforementioned anniversary. You can pre-order it over here.

[Download] Hounds - "The Wicked Witch"

Essex four-piece Hounds have just unveiled the first track from their upcoming EP The Wicked which drops on June 4th. "The Wicked Witch" is a bit reminiscent of older Does It Offend You Yeah? with its frantic dance-punk sound, thus I am not even a little surprised to hear that the band has been receiving praise from not just DIOYY but the likes of The Prodigy as well. In fact, The Prodigy are into Hounds' music and live show so much that they were hand picked by them to perform at their festvial last year. In addition to an EP launch party at the end of the month, the band will also be performing at this year's Download Festival as well.

If you like the sounds of "The Wicked Witch" below, just wait. After giving the EP a few spins already, I can tell you that are even more great tracks to come.
