As we approach the release date for the upcoming album from The Japanese Popstars, Controlling Your Allegiance, which is June 21st in the US (20th everywhere else), more songs from the album are slowly trickling out for you to enjoy. This next one, "Catapult", is the perfect pick me up for this time of day where you need something to seriously kickstart your brain. If you've been following The Japanese Popstars at all recently, you've probably their honorary mascot, a sweetheart of a baboon named Joshua all over the place. Well Joshua had his music video debut in the video which he is named after, from the upcoming album Controlling Your Allegiance, which drops June 21st on Astralwerks.

The band is set to kick off their mini-US tour in San Diego, CA on June 30. You can peep the rest of the dates after the jump.

[Listen] The Japanese Popstars - "Joshua"

Check out the latest single, "Joshua" from electro band The Japanese Popstars (who are neither Japanese or popstars, btw). The single features vocals from Tom Smith from The Editors, which was a really nice touch to the song, I might add.

The single is due to drop on June 13th, with the upcoming album, Controlling Your Allegiance dropping on June 20th. The album is said to have collaborations with other artists in addition to Tom Smith, including: Robert Smith, Jon Spencer (Blues Explosion), Green Velvet and psych folk singer James Vincent McMorrow.
