[News] The Black Keys, The Cool Kids, Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y & More Ready Blakroc 2

Late last night as I began to wind down into a slumber Rocko pops up online with a link to a video. That video was the very one you see above showing a host of talent in a studio smoking what seems to be a lot of herbal medicine. In short, The Black Keys are readying Blakroc 2, their collaboration album with a bunch of contributors from all corners of hip-hop. The Cool Kids, Talib Kweli, Curren$y, Wiz Khalifa, U God,  Jay Electronica, OC, Sean Price and Jim Jones are all set to feature on the release. I have a feeling this release is going to be a good one, just an inkling. Dan's guitar tone makes me swoon like a teen girl for Justin Bieber. Seriously check it out in the video and get excited. Although, maybe hold back a little on the excitement for a moment as the video just says "Coming Soon" as oppose to a concrete release date. Whatever, I'm now excited now and a very happy man.

Hey, it Summer may have ended but the weather here all summer was rubbish and today it was dope so hats off to The Cool Kids for dropping the video for this track right now. Their video for "Summer Jam" will have you feeling warm and bright no matter what the weather for you is like on this depressing September 1st. I now want to be in a pool with someone cooking copious amounts of undercooked meat for me. Farewell Summer, you were good to us. Thanks to CoS for the tip off on this warm fuzzy video.

[News] Cool Kids Announce Tour Dates

Today is a good day to be Cool Kids. Today, their highly anticipated full-length, When Fish Ride Bicycles hits digital shelves on iTunes, courtesy of Green Label Sound.To celebrate, the band has unveiled tour dates in the starting in Ocean City, MD on July 23rd, complete with a performance at Lollapalooza. More dates will be announced in the weeks to come, so keep your eyes here for more information.

I've been zoning on this album ever since getting an advance listen. Retro rap outfit, truly break out of their retro act typecast with their long awaited debut album When Fish Ride Bicycles. One of my favorite tracks from the album hit teh interwebz over the holiday weekend titled "Summer Jam" featuring vocals from Maxine Ashley and some classic Neptunes production thanks to Pharrell Williams who also produces another track on the album titled "Get Right."

This song along with the group's previous single "Swimsuits" featuring Mayer Hawthorne are perfect tunes for you to ride to the beach to this summer. All in all, WFRB is actually the perfect summer hip hop album I've heard so far this year. Check out the new track below as well as "Swimsuits" and do your ears a favor and preorder the album before it drops next week.

So it looks like we are finally gonna see the debut album When Fish Ride Bicycles from The Cool Kids after all. The group is set to release their album on July 12th via Mountain Dew's Green Label Sound imprint and you can check out their latest summertime single from the album "Swimsuits" featuring everyone's favorite Crooner Mayer Hawthorne. The single just hit digital music shelves today (iTunes), so as Redman would say "Pick it up. Pick it up."
