[Watch] Swedish House Mafia - "Antidote" (Live from Madison Square Garden)
This past year I've seen some crazy performances from top name DJ's both in the flesh and online. Remember that insane Deadmau5/Nokia team up not too ling ago? Swedish House Mafia live was pretty fun too, but this footage takes the biscuit! Filmed at New York's Madison Square Garden it shows the trio rocking the iconic venue in front of a crowd of jumping frenzied fans. They were the first DJ's to do so! Wasn't Deadmau5 the first Canadian Artist to Headline Toronto's Rogers Centre. Random DJ facts, that's my lot. Hypetrak also points towards their full set which is enjoyable through Soundcloud below!

[Watch] Swedish House Mafia vs. Knife Party - "Antidote" (NSFW Video)
Trying to start a post about this new video was a little hard, mainly because I wanted to type boobies as it's not everyday you get to do that. So now I've got that out of the way you can watch the video for the Swedish House Mafia and Knife Party track, "Antidote". The video is set in a strip club from the POV of a young gent. He heads to the toilet, dons a mask and then all hell breaks lose. Check it out after the jump. From the title and the little pre-note prior to the video, this has naked bodies and violence in it. You've been warmed.

[News] Swedish House Mafia Announce Official After Party At Roseland Ballroom
Earlier today, Swedish House Mafia announced that following their "One Night Stand" performance on December 16th at New York's finest, Madison Square Garden, there will be an afterparty at the lengendary Roseland Ballroom. Tickets for the after party will go on sale this Friday, December 9th at 10AM EST via Ticketmaster / Live Nation.
The group will also be releasing their new single, "Antidote" on the same day of the big performance, so be on the look out for that. They collaborated with Knife Party, the side project for two members of Pendulum, on the track, so it's sure to be a darker but still delightful Mafia treat.
[News] 54th Annual Grammy Nomminations Announced
It's that time of year again where we all bicker and complain about how the Grammys are no longer relevant and that the music industry continues to be nothing but a big fat failure. That's right, kiddies: the 54th Annual Grammy nominations are in and the band bashing is already in full swing.
Leading the nominations this time around are Adele (shocker), Kanye West, Bruno Mars, Foo Fighters, Rihanna and Lady Gaga. The Electronica and Dance categories were relatively well represented with nods for Cut/Copy, David Guetta, Robyn, Duck Sauce, Deadmau5, Skrillex, and Swedish House Mafia.
Skrillex and Bon Iver were included in the noms for Best New Artist along with The Band Perry, J. Cole and Nicki Minaj, which seemed to rattle the internet quite a bit. It's a little random that Bon Iver is in this category considering they released their first album in 2008, but we will be happy for them all the same. Skrillex seems to come out of left field in this category, but I guess if Ryan Seacrest is excited for Skrillex then we really shouldn't be all that shocked. Kudos to him for getting electronica/dance music into more categories other than their own, though. Bon Iver also received a nomination for Record of the Year with "Helocene" alongside Mumford & Sons, Katy Perry, Adele, and Bruno Mars.
Butch Vig, Danger Mouse, The Lonely Island, The Black Keys, Foster The People, Radiohead, The Decemberists, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kings of Leon, Wilco and many more were among the nominees tonight. Make sure you have a onceover on this years list of nominees and get ready to fire your tweets off with us on February 12, 2012 during the awards ceremony.
[Listen] Coldplay - "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall" (Swedish House Mafia Remix)
Calvin Harris' new single wasn't the only thing premiered on Pete Tong's show on BBC Radio One, Tong closed the show out with a new remix from dancefloor DJ's Swedish House Mafia remixing Coldplay's latest single "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall." The house mix definitely adds a nice touch to track making it sound a tad better than the original version featured on their latest EP of the same name. But check it out and let us know which version you like better. Have a great weekend!
[Review] Swedish House Mafia @ Manchester Apollo 27/05/11
House gigs at large venues are always an unusual one, the crowd can be different at every show and the music can sometimes trail off and lose interest. On Friday night, when I attended Manchester Apollo to witness Swedish House Mafia, I was put right. The Apollo as a venue, I like, with it's high ceilings and upper tier to boot, but how could three DJ's and producers keep the place bouncing until 2am? SHM entered 2011 as superstars following a huge previous year. 2010 was such a big year for them, signing with EMI and having huge hits with their single "One (Your Name)" which feature Pharrell followed up with the Tinie Tempah featuring "Miami 2 Ibiza". Two top ten tracks in as many months from these guys and fans snapping up tickets as quickly as they went on sale. They must be doing something right.

In Manchester Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso put on a show that I was not prepared for. I've seen DJ's play before and it's fun, don't get me wrong, but their always seems to be a little something lacking. Swedish House Mafia showed me what they'd been missing. With huge pyrotechnics firing off the stage at timed intervals for drops in songs, the crowd was screaming for more as they danced the night away. The trio played a host of their own tracks and kicked it all off with their hit "One" (all of which you can watch unfold in the video at the bottom). As well as their own hits they threw in chart track mixes and favourites including, the beautiful songstress and chart dominator that is Adele, SKoA fave Calvin Harris......As the night went on the energy in the room was electric and everyone was their for the same reason. To have fun and witness 3 great talents.
The lasers were constantly firing across the top of the Manchester crowd liked a never ending barrage of darts. Drop in their recent track, "Save The World" and the place nearly erupted. If you get the chance to see these guys live, do it. It's not just yoru average DJ behind the decks kind of thing, it's a full on experience and a show. They set a bar that, for me, will need to be hit by other DJ's at future shows. Just sayin'. The chemistry these three guys had between them and the 3500 fans was unifying. The tempo was upbeat and the night was young, at least for SHM, who once they wrapped up their set headed to the afterparty at Sankeys to play some more tracks for electronic hungry Mancunions. My ears were ringing until Sunday evening, always the sign of a good night.
A great night and a great show with a full AV show to boot, from what is surely to be one of the more influential groups for 2011 in the dj'ing world. 2010 was big for these boys but I think 2011 has a few treats in stall for them too.
Keeping with the vibe, take a listen to the Style Of Eye & Carli Remix of their track "Save The World" courtesy of EMI and Beat My Day.
