[Watch] Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi - "3 Dreams of Black"
Following in the footsteps of Arcade Fire (remember the interactive video for "We Used to Wait"?), Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi have released the interactive video for "3 Dreams of Black," a complement to the track "Black" off of their upcoming collaborative album, Rome. The video was directed by Chris Milk and, similar "We Used to Wait," was created by Google using Google Chrome's WebGL technology. This means that you'll need Google Chrome to use it, so just go ahead and install Chrome, cause it's a small price to pay to see this awesome video.
While chatting with Evolver, Milk said, "I have a philosophy about telling stories through multiple channels, and how we as humans are far-more-sophisticated media-consuming beings than we were 10 years ago. We can actually track these stories on multiple platforms for longer periods of time... There are a lot of 'easter eggs' and hidden things, and at the end of it… there's a lot to explore. It may seem at first like it's just one three-and-a-half-minute-long piece, but if you keep looking and going further, there's no shortage of rabbit holes to go down."
You can watch the video here. Rome is out May 17th via Capitol Records.
[Listen] Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi - "The World" Feat. Jack White (From The Rome Album)
Having already had our first two tastes of the new Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi project Rome. We've got to hear the dreamy "The Rose With A Broken Neck" which featured Jack Whites signature vocal tones ominously paced, as well as "Season's Trees" featuring the lovely work of Norah Jones on top. Today, courtesy of our boy Bryce over at 107.7 The End we get to hear another Jack White featuring track from the project titled, "The World".
The track delivers everything you'd expect from the previews we've previously had, with a guitar riff you could hear prominently in your head as you walk through the desert as the sun sets on the horizon. Jacks voice is layered over a marching drum beat which pairs up nicely together. Altogether a great listen, so I'll quit yammering on and let you give it a listen
Rome is scheduled to drop on May 17th, anyone else excited to get their hands on this full length beauty of a project?!
[Watch] Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi - The Black
We are approaching the last few weeks before Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi's album, Rome finally hits shelves on May 17th. Today's video features an unknown person playing the organ. Will these videos all tie together and finally make sense soon? Only time will tell.
[Listen] Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi - "Season's Trees feat. Norah Jones)"
"Season's Trees" is the fourth track on the upcoming Rome album and I'm pretty sure this is the staff favorite so far! This is the second song featuring Norah Jones that we've had a chance to feast our ears on and it is simply breathtaking. There will be one more song on the album graced with Jones' vocals and that final one is "Problem Queen".
I know it's impossible to forget at this point, but Rome drops on May 17th, courtesy of Capitol Records.

[Listen] Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi - "The Rose With A Broken Neck (Feat. Jack White)"
"The Rose With A Broken Neck" is another dreamy song in the key of Danger Mouse with Jackie White on vocals from the upcoming Rome album, which as you may know, is the brainchild of Daniele Luppi and Danger Mouse. From information gathered by Antiquiet back in November of last year on the song, Danger Mouse had this to say about working with White on the song:
“I played some of the music for Jack White when I was on tour shortly after doing the first session, just to show him what I was doing, because at the time everyone thought I was just a hip-hop guy, or whatever. He liked it, but at the time I wasn’t even thinking of using him – you know, it’s Jack White. But in the end, I thought, he’s really into it – why not? He tried it in different voices – a high voice, a low voice, and I thought, why don’t we leave them all in? There’s a bunch of his vocals on Rose With The Broken Neck, and it doesn’t always sound like him – sometimes you’re like, is that Jack or not?”
The layered vocals on the track are a really great touch. Not entirely sure if these were the lyrics that White claimed to have written while driving around listening to the music according to the trailer we posted back in March. They're a little weird, at least for such beautiful melodies.
Rome is scheduled to drop on May 17th.

[Watch] Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi - The Sound
Another Monday, another Rome clip. This one, The Sound, shows some keyboard stylings from their time in the studio.
Soon and very soon we will finally have our hands on this album, as May 17th is less than a month away now.
BTW - was anyone fortunate enough to snag the Rome "Two Against One" 7" on RSD?? I failed to hunt one down in NYC.

How To Get The Records You Want Before Those Ebay Jerks Do
- Get In Early: We do not recommend an all night rager tonight if you have a serious number of limited pressing records to nab. Find out what time the record stores you're hitting open tomorrow and plan on being there when doors open (if not a little bit before then).
- Make A List: The great folks over at Record Store Day have provided a highly detailed list of the records that will be available tomorrow, so have a once over on that and make note of what you want and which ones are limited pressings vs. just being released on RSD.
- Call Ahead: If you haven't taken RSD seriously before, call ahead to ask your stores how they plan to handle the RSD releases. Some stores set them aside, some put them behind the counter, and others just file the records away like they were nothing special (the nerve!). Also check to see if they're doing anything special to celebrate the big day. You may end up with things like in-store performances, free food, or a special sale.
- Don't Give Up!: If one store doesn't have a record you want, try another one! Be resourceful! One year Kibbe was on the hunt for a Dead Weather single and had to call from NYC a store in FLORIDA to track it down and put it on hold until one of her friends could go pick it up for her. It may cost you more for shipping to do something like that, but at least it won't be double the price like it would be on eBay!

Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi - The Found
Monday means we have another teaser clip from the upcoming Rome album! Maybe I'm not deep enough, but other than the music clips at the end these videos aren't really doing it for me. They found a spare part for an amp in this one? I guess it's just too early on a Monday for me. If one of you can find/make up a deeper meaning for this video, please do so in the comments.
Rome hits shelves May 17th.
