[Listen] Ultraísta - "Bad Insect"

Nigel Godrich's latest project Ultraísta has unveiled a new track from their forthcoming self-titled debut called "Bad Insect". If have been following along and have already heard "Smalltalk" and "Static Light", then you know that "Bad Insect" nestles in perfectly alongside them with its lush lightly layered beats with vocals provided by Laura Bettinson. I am admittedly a little late getting acquainted with this project but that hasn't crippled my newfound anticipation to hear more from this project. The debut album is slated for an October 2nd release on Temporary Residence.

Ultraísta is Nigel Godrich, Joey Waronker, and Laura Bettinson. Be sure to add them on Facebook, Twitter, and Soundcloud.

[Watch] Atoms For Peace - "Feeling Pulled Apart by Horses" Live from Fuji Rock

Check out this pro shot video of the all star cast that is, Atoms For Peace. There's something eerily mystifying and surreal about Thom Yorke that I can't quite put my finger on.  Thumping Drums and a fat bass line to boot in this Live version of the track "Feeling Pulled Apart by Horses" which was first heard last year when Thom released it as a double A side with "The Hollow Earth" almost exactly a year to the day ago in fact. You may hit repeat a few times with this one as it's a bit hypnotic. The band features Flea from RHCP, Nigel Godrich who most recently did the score for one of the SKoA team's favourite films Scott Pilgrim vs The World as well as Mauro Refosco, and Joey Waronker. Together it's a pretty intense on stage presence! Should help tide you over until we see a full length from them, well if that is to happen before new Radiohead emerges.

[Listen] Nigel Godrich - “Rumble” (From Scott Pilgrim vs. the World Original Score)

Stereogum premiered new music off of the Scott Pilgrim vs. the World original score done by Nigel Godrich. Godrich also serves as the official soundtrack's executive producer, which consist of original songs contributed by Beck and Broken Social Scene, and also the composer of the film's score. However, Nigel also included a few collaborations to the film's original music like Cornelius and Beck’s “Katayanagi Twins vs. Sex Bob-Omb” and Godrich and Beck’s “We are Sex Bob-Omb (Fast)”and “Death to All Hipsters”, as well as a couple of songs by Dan The Automator.

You can check out one of Godrich's solo tracks titled "Rumble" off the film's score below, which is an obvious homage to Barry De Vorzon's score of the cult film The Warriors. Both Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (Original Score Composed by Nigel Godrich) and official soundtrack are set to be released next week on 8/10 via ABKCO.
