[Watch] Maps & Atlases - "Fever" Live in Session for Manchester Scenewipe
Maps & Atlases recently released their glorious second full-length offering, Beware and Be Grateful, last month. They also recently made a stop off in the UK to promote the LP and whilst here they stopped over in Manchester, more specifically a Gallery in which you could spend far too much money on rare gig posters. Trust me, I've done it. The band performed a selection of tracks including "Fever", "Winter" and "Pigeon". If you jump on over to Manchester Scenewipe you can enjoy the latter two with "Fever" being up for your enjoyment above.
[Listen] Maps & Atlases - "Fever"
As we eagerly await the return of Maps & Atlases and their new album Beware & Be Grateful to drop on the 17th of April, we get our second taste of what's to come. Like stealing a cookie from the jar while your parents are in the next room as a child, the track is a delight to the senses and a rush of excitement as it sees the band take a more direct approach in comparison to their great 2010 album, Perch Patchwork. It is called "Fever" so be wary of getting a little hot after hearing it, but stream it below via Spin and head over here to pre-order the album.

Some good news this way does come today as the Chicago band have announced their sophomore effort entitled, Beware and Be Careful, and a release date for April 16th in the UK and a day later on the 17th in the US. [Watch] Maps & Atlases - "Israeli Caves" (Video)
If you're a regular reader, by now you'll have realised we have a little soft spot for the Chicago based Maps & Atlases. They released their debut LP Perch Patchwork last year and it made our top 20 albums of 2010 to boot. Not too bad huh. Today you can check out their brand new visuals for the track "Israeli Caves" courtesy of our good friends at TwentyFourBit. The video will almost certainly make you go "Awwwww" or something to that nature. Check it out at the top and if you missed their A.V. Club performance the other day check that out here.
[Watch] Maps & Atlases - "Pigeon" Take Away Show
We've seen numerous Take Away shows from a host of bands in recent months and today I'm pleased to post one from a band I've already written about once today. Of course, it's Maps & Atlases. You can see them doing a nice little rendition of "Pigeon" for French site La Blogotheque and their Take Away show series which sees bands playing their tracks in unusual and amazing locations.
A beautiful version from Dave Davison and his trusty guitar. Check it out at the top whilst sitting back and having a little relax
[Watch] Maps & Atlases cover Seals & Croft's "Summer Breeze" For A.V. Club
Check out one of my favourite bands from 2010 doing their thing recently for the A.V. Club. The Chicago based band, Maps & Atlases put in a nice rendition of Seals & Croft's "Summer Breeze". The band whose full length debut Perch Patchwork is a great listen of interweaving harmonies and acoustic guitar fret work set against a back drop of rising bass and drum beats. In short it's great and up at the top you can see them performing a cover live.
To add to the fun of the video it was recorded at the T Shirt giant, Threadless, and their warehouse. Apparently it has a basketball court along with a giant robot. Check it out and if you want to pick up their album (which I think you should), it's up for grabs here.
