[News] The Strokes' Albert Hammond Jr. Releasing New EP in September
The Strokes' guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. made an appearance on Har Mar Superstar's "Nocturnal Emotions" podcast this week, revealing some exciting news. While the show typically "features long conversations with musicians, actors, artists, and other people of interest focusing on embarrassing moments in their lives and careers," Hammond Jr. took the opportunity to announce a new EP. While it's yet to be titled, the EP will include five tracks and is set to release in September through bandmate Julian Casablancas' label Cult Records.
That's all the info we've got so far, but I for one am really looking forward to this. Hammond Jr.'s solo work has always been good, but he hasn't released anything since 2008's ¿Cómo te Llama?—below you can check out "GfC," my favorite track from that LP.
[Watch] Pearl Jam 20 Highlights Featuring: Julian Casablancas, Josh Homme & Chris Cornell
Pearl Jam played a show over the weekend to celebrate their staying together for 20 years. Not only were the big PJ headlining but the likes of Queens of the Stoneage, The Strokes, Mudhoney and Temple of the Dog made appearances (reformed). It seems like this was the show to be at over the weekend and the guys over at CoS have found some of the best bits for us to enjoy. And boy is there a lot of them. Chris Cornell came on stage to help perform a cover of Mother Love Bone, Julian Casablancas put his vox to good use on "Not For You. Next up, Josh Homme front man of QOTSA came on stage to help on "In The Moonlight" and then Liam Finn, The Swell Season’s Glen Hansard, and Mudhoney’s Dan Peters joined the band for “Who You Are”. All in all night one of the PJ20 festival was a complete success wouldn't you say!?
As well as all of the above, Josh Homme helped Strokes put "New York City Cops" and then later Eddie Vedder joined QOTSA on stage for perform "Make It Wit Chu" and "Little Sister". So, without further ado, first video at the top is Temple of the Dog performing "Reach Down" with the rest of the footage labelled after the jump.

The Strokes Finally Done with New Album
"Still not going to be out for a few months-mixing, etc, but JUST finally finished it yesterday actually!?"
The making of the fourth studio album from the New York-based band The Strokes has been a bit of a disappointing road for fans. The album has been delayed multiple times and the lack of any new material being shown to the public has made fans (me included) pretty hopeless. But, when The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas tweeted earlier this morning, that hope shot back up. Strokes fans rejoice! As you can read above, their long awaited fourth album is finally done, all it needs is a few months to mix and perfect and we'll all be hearing what they've been working on. Keep your eyes peeled for more from The Strokes in the next few months!
