[Listen] Neon Neon - "Wheels" (Preview)

For the first time in over three years, Neon Neon, the collaborative project between producer Boom Bip and Gruff Rhys, are set to release a song, titled "Wheels." The song will be included on Lex Records ten-year anniversary compilation Complex Vol. 1, which also includes the Dave Sitek remixed "Rhymin' Slang." The previously unreleased track was written during the duo's Stainless Styles sessions, their debut concept album which dealt with the automobile icon John DeLorean. Following the influence of said album, "Wheels" concerns "Johnny Carson’s involvement as one of the financiers of the Delorean Motor Company." You can check out a two-and-a-half minute preview of the track below, the full version of which you can purchase here.

[Listen] Gruff Rhys - "Slashed Wrists This Christmas"

Well, if you're one of those folk that doesn't like Christmas and the thought of a Scott Weiland Christmas album makes you sick to your stomach, Gruff Rhys may have the answer to your bewilderment. He's announced a new EP aptly named Atheist Xmas, which is going to drop on December 19th. The perfect stocking filler, no? The EP may have a great name but check out these song titles for size: "Post Apocalypse Christmas", "At the End of the Line", and "Slashed Wrists This Christmas". Ah, who needs that Coca-Cola ad when you have Gruff? Signed copies of the vinyl 12" version will be available on Gruff Rhys' website. For now though, listen to our first anti-Christmas preview "Slashed Wrists This Christmas" below.

[Listen] Gruff Rhys - "Whale Trail"

Gruff Rhys has entered into a new world of possibilities, albeit one that Bjork has already taken a firm jump into, it's iPhone/iPad apps & games. Gruff has made a theme tune for a new iPhone game called Whale Trail, a game in which you guide a Whale through a multi coloured acid trip of magic whilst collecting bubbles all while avoiding the baddie, Baron van Barry.

Gruff enlisted help from Neil McFarland who he's previously worked on has previously collaborated with Rhys on Super Furry Animals' DVD albums Rings Around the World and Phantom Power. To go with the song Gruff naturally had to create a theme song for the game which is titled "Whale Trail" and can be heard below. Another track will be released on October 20th titled "Space Dust #2" with a limited-edition 12" vinyl single following on the 31st of October. The game's also set to be launched on the 20th. Excited much? For now though, enjoy the retro game sounding guitar and synth filled track below. Hat tip to the Guardian for the heads up on this little piece of magic.

[Watch] Gruff Rhys - "Honey All Over" (Video)

It turns out not only is Gruff Rhys a great musician but he's got balls of steel! In his new video for the infectious track "Honey All Over" taken from his latest studio release Hotel Shampoo, you'll witness him in a bee keeper outfit. Not just that though, it appears he's the leader of a group/cult of some sort. All I know is he's braver than me to be close to so many bees whilst spinning around with honey sticks in the countryside. I'll stick to just watching the video and not partaking in the bee loving. Got to love Gruff though first he teaches us words like "Xenodocheionology" and now he out does us all on the bravery front. Props.

Check it out above and go grab Gruff's latest release for a perfect summer listen.

[Listen] Gruff Rhys - "Xenodocheionology"

Check out another new track from Super Furry Animals' frontman Gruff rhys titled "Xenodocheionology." The track is set to be relesed on May23rd as the B-Side Rhys' recent single "Honey All Over" from his recently released album Hotel Shampoo. Take a listen to the track in full courtesy of NME.

Fun fact: "xenodocheionology" describes a person’s love of hotels or inns. I wonder why Gruff chose that as a title name? ;)

[Listen] Miles Kane - 'Colour Of The Trap' (Full Album)

Courtesy of NME why not take a listen to Miles Kane's solo debut, Colour of the Trap. You may recognise Miles from his work with Alex Turner of The Arctic Monkeys and the two's project, The Last Shadow Puppets. Or maybe from Miles' work with The Rascals and The Little Flames? If you answer yes, or no to any of the above, it doesn't matter. As you can stream the entire album below. None other than SKoA fave Gruff Rhys had a hand on the production and ex Oasis man and none Beady Eye member, Noel Gallagher feature son the album track, "My Fantasy".

Let us know what you think of the young talent.
