[Watch] Dave Grohl, Josh Homme and Trent Reznor live in the studio playing "Mantra"

As I'm sure you're aware by now, Dave Grohl's soundtrack to his movie about Los Angeles recording studio Sound City, is soon to be released. Next week in fact on March 12th via Dave's very own label, Roswell Records. On Sound City: Real to Reel there is many a collaboration to get you hot under the collar. Check out the full tracklisting on iTunes here. For me though anything with Dave on drums and Josh Homme on guitar of some sort is going to make me lose it a little bit. Add into that mix the ridiculously talented Trent Reznor and you've got a recipe for a panic attack. Seriously.

Ahead of the release of the soundtrack next week, RollingStone has released some in studio footage of the trio recording the track titled "Mantra". It's sure to relax you on a stressful Friday afternoon as well as induce a fever of awesome. Check it out above.

[Watch] Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic & Pat Smear Perform "Cut Me Some Slack" Live

Unless you were living under a big fat f'in rock yesterday you probably witnessed the internet explode at the prospect of a "Nirvana reunion" featuring Paul McCartney. Well it kind of did happen and didn't tarnish Nirvana in any way. I wouldn't exactly call it a reunion though, just an all star cast of musicians rocking out in a live setting. Paul is on stage and describes being invited to a "Jam session" and that's exactly what I'd call it. Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic along with Pat Smear joined McCartney on stage at the all-star 12.12.12 Concert for Sandy Relief and performed a track they've titled "Cut Me Some Slack" live for the first time ever. Just watch it and hit play above. Pretty fucking cool if you ask me, I could watch Dave smash a kit all day.

[News] Dave Grohl Confirms Foo Fighters Hiatus

Over the weekend there was a lot of speculation that lengendary rockers Foo Fighters were on the verge of a breakup. It was all based on a comment he made in passing while perfroming in front of thousands of fans in Central Park for the Global Citizen Festival that had the internet clamoring for clarification. Today front man Davie Grohl finally took to the internet to set the record straight:

"Hey everyone...

Dave here. Just wanted to write and thank you all again from the bottom of my heart for another incredible year. (Our 18th, to be exact!) We truly never could have done any of this without you...

Never in my wildest dreams did I think Foo Fighters would make it this far. I never thought we COULD make it this far, to be honest. There were times when I didn't think the band would survive. There were times when I wanted to give up. But... I can't give up this band. And I never will. Because it's not just a band to me. It's my life. It's my family. It's my world.

Yes... I was serious. I'm not sure when the Foo Fighters are going to play again. It feels strange to say that, but it's a good thing for all of us to go away for a while. It's one of the reasons we're still here. Make sense? I never want to NOT be in this band. So, sometimes it's good to just... put it back in the garage for a while...

But, no gold watches or vacations just yet... I'll be focusing all of my energy on finishing up my Sound City documentary film and album for worldwide release in the very near future. A year in the making, it could be the biggest, most important project I've ever worked on. Get ready... it's coming.

Me, Taylor, Nate, Pat, Chris, and Rami... I'm sure we'll all see you out there... somewhere...

Thank you, thank you, thank you...
Dave"

And there you have it. I'm honestly not shocked that they're going to take a break. They all have their wives, babies, and other projects to tend to. I'm just REALLY glad that I managed to snag tickets at the last minute and be there for what may be the last Foo Fighters show evar.

[Watch] Cage The Elephant - "Aberdeen" Feat. Dave Grohl Live in LA

We saw some grainy footage last year from Cage The Elephant featuring Dave Grohl on drums, but today courtesy of the band themselves we get a live video with HQ sound. It features some footage from on stage and in the crowd at a recent LA date. For the track "Aberdeen", Cage have Dave doing his impeccable thing behind the kit. I always feel like Dave's about to do one of his crazy drum fills like in Them Crooked Vulture's "Nobody Loves Me and Neither Do I". (Un)Fortunately for Cage The Elephant he puts in a to be expected great beat for them and now we can enjoy it too.

Rumour has it that at the show they also performed a nice sounding rendition of Talking Heads' classic "Psycho Killer". That's yet to surface though. Sad face.

Chances are you didn't manage to get down to the gig but through the magic of the internet and the world we live in it hasn't taken long for performances and tracks to pop up online. Up at the top you can check out the set closer which was a rendition of "See The Light" which featured the entire cast that had graced the stage that night. After the jump you can peep performances from Dave who paired up with Bob for performances of "Hardly Getting Over It", "Could You Be The One" & and "Ice Cold Ice" before jumping behind the kit like the animal he is for a rendition of "New Day Rising".

Right at the bottom after the jump you'll find the cool as ice Ryan Adams performing a cover of Bob Mould's track "Heartbreak A Stranger". All in all it looked like Bob had one hell of an evening and the fans got to see some world class music.

[Listen] Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic & Butch Vig Talk 'Nevermind With Jon Stewart

The Nirvana/Nevermind goodness just keeps on coming and so it should. That album changed the way people perceive music. It led to hundreds of copycat bands spreading their wings a little and 20 years on it still sounds like it could be a fresh as hell album ready to drop next week. In that vein, Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Butch Vig dropped by to have a chat with Jon Stewart of The Daily Show about the seminal album and courtesy of The Audio Perv you can check out the aforementioned chat at the bottom.

[Watch] Foo Fighters - "Walk" x Interview Live on Conan

Two Dave Grohl interviews in two days. It's not a bad time to be a Foo Fighters fan is it?! Last night Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett and Nate Mendel brought their jam "Walk" to Conan but before that Dave had a little sit down with the ginger quiffed presenter too. By now we all know the Foo's are killing this album on the live circuit, we've seen them perform it at stadiums, at festivals, in garages and in multiple studios. Today we can add another notch to the 'studio' column.

Up at the top you can watch them slay through "Walk" and after the jump is the interview which isn't as generic as you might expect. How many times can you be asked the same questions though really? Jump over here if you want to pick up a copy of the bands phenomenal album Wasting Light.

[Watch] Dave Grohl Interview On Chelsea Lately

Our friends over at the Audio Perv never stop! Seriously. Thanks to them you can enjoy the nicest man in rock, Dave Grohl, chatting with Chelsea Lately about a broad range of subjects including his true passion, ROCK MUSIC! I think the most important thing that is brought up in the interview however is that Foo Fighters promo video. You know, the one where they look a little red eyed and all dress up as trucker (minus Pat who's a cleaner) and, oh yeah, they're all stark bollock naked! Hot Buns! Give it a watch and their return to form album Wasting Light is available over here.
