[Download] Chromatics - 'Running From the Sun'
Chromatics' member Johnny Jewel has a pleasant surprise for everyone out there that loved their latest LP Kill for Love with 35 minutes of unreleased material from the album. Containing eight songs recorded from November 2009 to December 2011, Running From the Sun is what Jewel describes as the result of being "[j]et lagged & buzzing from Friday’s show in Paris..." He continues, saying:
I couldn’t sleep…so I stayed up all night with Oko talking about color based dreams while blending these tracks together. Since the album came out, a lot of people on the road have been telling us they are curious to hear some of the unreleased music from the Kill For Love sessions…Recorded November 2009 through December 2011, these songs were all mixed between 4 & 6 a.m. After hours of tracking at the studio in Montreal, we’d clear the channels on the mixer, open a bottle of wine, & feel around in the dark…working our way through the atmospheric elements & peeling back layers of rhythm…throwing the songs into the abstract pile & playing them while driving home in the snow. In Amsterdam right now trying to upload it from the hotel. Fingers crossed…"

[Watch] Chromatics - "Looking for Love" (Official Video)
Chromatics continually support their amazing fourth full-length album Kill for Love with videos that are as aesthetically pleasing as the music itself. The visuals for "Looking for Love" sees the atmospheric synthesized beats accompanied by grainy footage of Chanel’s Pret-A-Porter Printemps-Ete 2013 Show, where the band performed. The impressive architecture of the Grand Palais in Paris, as well as the model's themselves, makes for a perfect companion for the synth goodness. Catch the replay above.
"Looking for Love" will be appear in its full 17-minute version on After Dark 2, an upcoming compilation put together by the band's label, Italians Do It Better.

Chromatics' fourth studio album Kill for Love has seen much love from not only us here at SKoA, but from fans and the blogosphere as a whole, and deservedly so. It makes sense then that the Oregon outfit has been releasing a steady flow of videos and singles from the album, with the latest being the sixth single "These Streets Will Never Look The Same." The single has also been given the video treatment, with frequent collaborator Alberto Rossini once again helming the director's chair. Blurry black and white footage of the band on location in Las Vegas, Montreal and Mexico City comprises the visuals for the song, and as always the evocative style simply works with the band's sound. Check it out above.

[Listen] Chromatics - 'Kill For Love' (Full Album Stream)

[Watch] Chromatics - "Back From The Grave" (Official Video)
Another new track and accompanying video has appeared online from Chromatics and this time it's for a nice little number called "Back From The Grave". The retro looking video was directed from Alberto Rossini and features plenty of soft focus bright lights. It has a kaleidoscope kind of feel to it in places too, not the best if you're currently nursing a headache from a few too many over the weekend. A great sounding track though.
If you missed it last week, "Candy" can be seen here. The tracks are set to feature on their delayed album, Kill Your Love.

Another day, another new track from Chromatics and this one's a little sweet, entitled "Candy". As Disco Naivete points out up at the top of the page you can enjoy the Alberto Rossini-directed video which will feature on their delayed album, Kill Your Love. Still, treat yourself some "Candy" which should keep your sugar levels up for the foreseeable future.
[Watch] Chromatics - "Into The Black" (Official Video)
It's been five years since Portland electro pop outfit Chromatics put out the excellent Night Drive, and with a new album set for release this year (word is it could be out as early as tomorrow), the group has let loose a cover of Neil Young's "Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black)." Give the song a listen above alongside the Alberto Rossini-directed video.
Kill For Love is out sometime this year via Italians Do It Better.
