While things continue to remain silent on the Vampire Weekend front, the band's bassist Chris Baio keeps the productivity going with his second EP of the year. Following last May's Sunburn EP, Baio returns with the two-song The Silent/New You EP. Stream or download both songs below, and enter a world that "draws the listener deep into a long sleepless night of dubbed vocals, smokey rooms and flickering VHS tapes".

Vampire Weekend bassist Chris Baio released his solo EP titled Sunburn last month and dropped a video for the lead track, "Sunburn Modern" yesterday for the world to see. The video follows around a blonde mannequin as she wanders around various parts of Brooklyn before stopping for a sunbathe in the park. They did such a good job with this video that after awhile you mostly forget that she's supposed to be "not real".

[News] Vampire Weekend Bassist Chris Baio to Release Solo EP

Vampire Weekend's bassist Chris Baio has announced that he will be releasing a solo EP, titled Sunburn, through Hot Chip's Joe Goddard's co-run label Greco-Roman. The EP, which is set for release on May 21st, will include three tracks, one of which, titled "Tanto," is a collaborative effort with Matias Aguayo. "Tanto" is available to stream in full below (via Pitchfork), and after the jump you can take a look at the tracklisting for the forthcoming EP. As well, Baio will be performing DJ sets in New York, San Francisco, London, and Toronto in support of the release before heading to Pitchfork Music Festival to join his Vampire Weekend bandmates as headliners.
