[Watch] Doomtree - "Beacon"

Team The Best Team aka Wings and Teeth aka Minneapolis hip hop collective Doomtree return with a brand new video off one of my favorite albums of 2011 No Kings. Although the album dropped back in November, the Doom Crew have been busy touring in support of their latest record and if you heard it in all its epicness you would understand why. But even with their crazy schedule the crew still finds time to put out some awesome videos like their latest steampunk themed visual for the No Kings' cut "Beacon" directed by Bo Hakala.

This dark and gritty video is one of my favorite videos that the collective have put out to date. Although it isn't Har Mar Superstar getting down(to his bare ass, literally) to some "Bangarang" karaoke, this video speaks for itself on how creative these group of artist are and also showcases the always beautiful Dessa, Sims looking like a crazed maniac while Mike Mictlan creeping around in the shadows which I call an all around win. [Download] Doomtree Announce 'No Kings', Release New Song "The Grand Experiment"

This is a wonderful surprise! The Doomtree crew, P.O.S, Sims, Cecil Otter, Dessa, Mike Mictlan, Lazerbeak and Paper Tiger are back with their upcoming sophomore crew album No Kings, being dropped on Nofucksgiven day, November 22nd. Preorders for the new album have begun, which include both CDs and a double-vinyl standard and deluxe package. Included with the packages is a chance to win a pair of tickets to all seven nights of this year’s Blowout at First Avenue in Minneapolis. WHAT!? Just two days ago we got to witness the cool concept video for Scroobius Pip's follow up to "Introdiction", "Let Em Come". Both tracks feature on his upcoming album Distraction Pieces which is set to drop on September 19th. This remix comes from Strange Famous Records and three of their affiliates: Sage Francis, Metermaids & Cecil Otter. FOr those who may not of know, Cecil is the mastermind behind the awesome Wugazi project and he made the beats here. Download it for yourselves below courtesy of Strange Famous Records. 

Pre-orders are available now for you guys and I'd advise you do it after giving it a couple of listens last night it is goign to be getting some heavy playback on my iTunes. Big beats and riffs paired up with Scroob's social commentary and digs works phenomenally well.

[News] Doomtree Recording 2nd Crew Album, Announce Good Time Zoo Tour & Drop New Mike Mictlan Track

According to various Retweets on twitter, it looks like MPLS hip hop super group, Doomtree are back in the studio working on the follow up to their 2008 self titled album. According to Sims, if everything goes smooth we should have it late fall, hopefully, alongside the new P.O.S. album and Astronautalis and P.O.S. Four Fists album. Looks like its gonna be a Doomtree holiday season.

But that's not all the Doom crew's been up to. Sims, Lazerbeak and Cecil Otter are about to hit the road on the Good Time Zoo Tour with a few full crew shows in the mix, including one at the famed Red Rocks with SKoA Favorite RJD2. Peep the tour dates after the jump.

Lastly, we got a new previously unreleased tune from Doomtree member, Mike Mictlan, who we haven't heard much from since the release of his album with Lazerbeak, Hand Over Fist. [Listen] Wugazi - "Slow Like That"

We're one day away until Wugazi Wednesday and we get another taste of Cecil Otter and Swiss Andy's upcoming release 13 Chambers before its release tomorrow. Check out the track "Slow Like That" courtesy of Rolling Stone in the player below. This mash up blends Ghostface Killah and Ne-Yo's 2006 single "Back Like That" with the Fugazi's  "Slo Crostic" cut from the soundtrack to the band's documentary Instrument.

We get another taste of the upcoming Wu Tang x Fugazi Mash Up Mixtape, Wugazi aka Doomtree's Cecil Otter and "Swiss" Andy Lund of The Swiss Army and The Millionth Word fame, 2 days away from it's release. Check out the newest banger "Forensic Shimmy" which takes Fugazi's classic "Forensic Scene" and combines it with the rhymes of the legendary Ol Dirty Bastard's classic "Shimmy Shimmy Ya."

A week away from it's release, we get another fresh joint from the upcoming Wu Tang x Fugazi mash up album, 13 Chambers by Wugazi who consist of Andy Lund & Doomtree's Cecil Otter. Check out the newest track "Sweet Release" which combines Fugazi's "Sweet and Low" with Method Man's "Release Your Delf."

Check out the previous Wugazi track, "Sleep Rules Everything Around Me",which is a SKoA favorite and blends the classic Wu Banger "C.R.E.A.M." and Fugazi's "I'm So Tired." 13 Chambers drops next week on the 13th as a free download at Wugazi.com.
