[News] Glastonbury 2011 Line-up Revealed
It's almost Festival season which is my favourite time of year. Who doesn't love a weekend in some fields somewhere in some country with a bunch of friends maybe a few drinks and the key ingredient, good music. Glastonbury has always been a landmark in the calendar for any festival goer and this year the rumours had been rife for months about the headliners and confirmation came months ago. Yesterday however the announcement of a crazy number of bands playing across the weekend at Worthy Farm were released. You can see them all in the poster above. Being Glastonbury their will be god knows how many more still left to be announced but to whet the appetite just a little the likes of QOTSA, The Chemical Brothers, Lykke Li, Biffy Clyro, Crystal Castles, Gruff Rhys, U2, Coldplay, Beyonce, Tame Impala, Yuck, The Vaccines and Warpaint just to name a handful.
To get a grasp on the days the bands are playing and a better feel of how the weekend will unfold, head on over to the official Glastonbury site. The size of this festival is unfathomable and the bands that have graced its iconic Pyramid stage will go down in. If you ever get a chance to go to this festival in your lifetime. It needs to be done.

[SKOA Presents] The Top 25 Albums of 2010: 20-16

When you think about psych rock bands for 2010, the first band that should stand out should be the Austrailian 3 piece, Tame Impala and their debut album Innerspeaker. This album rocks from beginning to end, from the eerie beatle-esque vocals from vocalist/guitarist Kevin Parker in the track “It Is Not Meant To Be” to other stand out tracks like “Desire Be Desire Go”, “Lucidity” and “Solitude Is Bliss”. Innerspeaker’s amazing melodies and lyrics drenched in reverb and echo vocal effects, along with the band’s solid fuzz rock sound sets you in an awesome psychadelic dreamscape with each listen. The exciting part about this album, it’s the band’s first release which means we have a lot to look forward from Tame Impala in the future. - Rocko

An all girl band with a lot of buzz this year which normally would have me turning around immediately upon the mention of “buzz”. Yet, these girls delivered an exceptional debut album along with rousing live performances. Their lead single “Undertow” grabbed my attention immediately with it’s, as Pitchfork put it, “smoky mid-tempo” feel set the tone for the rest of the album. The rest of the album didn’t disappoint with it’s moody riffs and lyrics paired with Emily Kokal’s, Theresa Wayman and Jenny Lee’s haunting vocals and harmonies, along with the mellow drum work of Stella Mozgawa. From front to back the mystriousness of these girls drips through your speakers and makes you want to listen on and on. Yes it’s their debut album, but it’s also a bloody good listen and will have you imagining fields of flowers on a summers day along with the changing leaves of Fall. An all year round album that I feel deserves it’s place in our top albums of 2010. - Shey
[Listen] Warpaint - "Shadows" (Neon Lights Remix)
Warpaint have a lot of hype around them at the minute after the release of their laid back debut The Fool. Their first single "Undertow" did the rounds and got a lot of play on my iTunes if I'm completely honest. They have also gained a lot of positive feedback from their live shows and now Neon Lights have done an awesome remix of their next single "Shadows". If you're unfamilier with Neon lights they're the guys responsible for this XX "Crystalised" Remix. You can listen to the remix of "Shadows" after the jump courtesy of Rough Trade Records.

This is a GREAT addition to an already gorgeous song. If you were already a fan on "Undertow" I highly recommend you picking up this remix by Blackbird Blackbird. If you've never heard either, well, get on it.

[Watch] Warpaint - "Undertow" x "Bees" (Yours Truly Session)
Warpaint dropped into Yours Truly to play a few tracks from their warmly received album The Fool. They played lead single from the album "Undertow" which has been one of the most played tracks on my laptop these past few months. As well as that they played album track "Bees" which is a stella effort too. These girls seem to have a lot of buzz around them at the minute and live ive performances tend to justify the hype. You can decide for yourself though here with these performances. Watch "Undertow" up top and "Bees" after the jump. You can preview the entire album from these ladies over here if you are yet to bath in it's summer warmth and mellowness.
