[SXSW 2011] Preview: Jamie Woon

British singer/songwriter Jamie Woon hit the scene in 2007 with his EP Wayfaring Stranger and hasn't stopped making waves since. Riding off of last year's successful single "Night Air", Woon is hitting the ground running in Austin to get the world rowdy for his upcoming album, Mirrorwriting, which hits stores April 11th. 

I have been in love with his voice since the first time I laid my ears on "Lady Luck" (video and remix below). Really looking forward to catching him at one of these sets during my stay in Austin.

[Watch] Jamie Woon - "Waterfront"

Jamie Woon has been getting a lot of coverage in recent months with his debut album Mirrorwriting, set for release in a few months on April 11th via Candent Songs, chances are we'll be seeing even more and hopefully get to hear more from the debut prior to that. We've previously had a taste of what he has to offer with his track "Lady Luck". Here we see Jamie sat on his own with just an acoustic guitar for company. It shows us the lungs and heights his voice is capable of and I think his album will be an interesting listen in the coming months. Who knows if this rendition of the track will sound like the finished album version but for now this installment of Jamie performing in a park in Nottingham will do.

There's a lot of attention around young Jamie Woon at the moment and nwo the hype can continue to grow as we now have ord of his debut LP, Mirrorwriting, and it's release date. Jamie Woon’s debut LP, has been set to be released on April 11th. It will feature his debut single "Night Air" and the current single "Lady Luck". If you're feeling like you want to hear some of his stuff now you can stream some songs on his Soundcloud. [Listen] Jamie Woon - "Lady Luck"

London's upcoming singer/songwriter/producer Jamie Woon brings us "Lady Luck", a sultry little number with smoooth as silk vocals nestled in between his crooner-ish vocal melody. Reminds me somewhere along the lines of super early Robin Thicke (when he was still going just as Thicke) meets Sam Sparro's kind of production but more dirty. I will now be humming the melody to this song for the rest of the day and enjoying every minute of it.
