[Watch] The Roots Cover "Get Lucky" on Jimmy Fallon, Rap Over Mario's Iconic Theme Song

Jimmy Fallon's suggestion box has led to some pretty iconic moments for the late night host, such as this highlight. This week saw not one but two awesome moments courtesy of requests from Fallon fans. First was the introduction of Black Simon & Garfunkel (aka ?uestlove and “Captain” Kirk Douglas), who covered Daft Punk's radio-consuming single "Get Lucky" with quiet grace. The only downside is that the folksy cover lasts a minute and a half.

Next up was The Roots' frontman Black Thought. In honor of Video Game Week on Late Night, Mario's iconic 8-bit theme song gets a hip-hop reworking. Watch Black Thought spit fireballs over the theme below.

[Watch] Peace - "White Noise" (Disclosure Cover) in Radio One's Live Lounge

Radio One's Live Lounge has been the place we've had some delightful covers over the years. This week was no different as Peace took to lounge playing their infectious track "Lovesick". After that they chose to cover Disclosure's huge hit, "White Noise", which feature son their recently released album Settle. Putting their own twist on the song, they add some funky bass lines and lovely sounding guitars that result in an equally dance worthy hit of its own. There's even some added Pink Floyd goodness thrown in as well. Marvelous. Check it out above.

[Watch] Queens of the Stone Age in Radio One's Live Lounge

All this week in the UK, Radio One have been having what they call "Rock Week". This means that in the day they've had numerous more rock orientated artists sitting in the live lounge performing some tracks. It's cool, I guess, introducing some people sat at work to bands they may not have heard of before. They also put on bands doing full sets each night.

The one that made me prick up my ears up in the week though was a visit from Josh Homme and Queens of the Stone Age. They dropped by to perform an acoustic rendition of "My God Is The Sun" along with a cover of Robin Thicke's Pharrell and T.I featuring "Blurred Lines". Watch both of those right now here. If you want the full electric set from the evening you can head over here.

...Like Clockwork is out now.

[Listen] Unknown Mortal Orchestra Cover Otis Redding's "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay"

Unknown Mortal Orchestra has such a great sound. Their guitar, bass and drums belt out with a warm, fuzzy sheen, and it translates oh so well to Otis Redding's famous song "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay." It's got such a mellow texture to it, coupled with a subtle sense of desperation. Damn, this cover is good. Stream the recording of UMO performing the cover live in studio for BBC Radio 6.

[Listen] Ellie Goulding - "Tessellate" (Alt-J Cover)

This was a nice surprise to see pop up in my feed a few days ago. Earmilk snagged a premiere of a beautiful sounding cover from the talented Ellie Goulding. We've heard her cover numerous tracks and she never disappoints. Today is no different as she takes on another huge British band, Alt-J, and their track "Tessellate" which featured on the Mercury Prize winning, An Awesome Wave. Now add into the mix production from Xaphoon Jones of Chiddy Bang and you've got one absolutely great track. Check it out below.

[Watch] The xx and Jessie Ware Cover Stardust's "Music Sounds Better With You" Live in Berlin

There's been a lot of love lately for Stardust's lone hit single "Music Sounds Better With You" (see Giraffage's fantastic remix here), and that continued last night. During The xx-led Night + Day concert in Berling, the band brought fellow Londoner Jessie Ware onstage to help them with a unique cover of the song. Ware's vocals add a touch of sensuality to The xx's atmospheric instrumentation. Let's hope a studio version hits the web soon. For now, you can watch the live version below.

The next and final Night + Day concert takes place at London's Hatfield House, with The xx leading a bill that includes performances from Solange, Poliça, Kindness and Mount Kimbie.

[Listen] Stream Sam Smith's Acoustic Version of Disclosure's "Latch"

British duo Disclosure have an incredible knack for pairing their electronic beats with incredible vocal talents. They did it earlier this year with "White Noise." They did it again with "You & Me." The list goes on and on, but last year's "Latch" is perhaps their best. Bringing in British singer Sam Smith, they unleashed one hell of a single.

Amongst all the synthesizers and bass kicks it can be difficult to realize just how beautiful and intimate Smith's lyrics are. That will all change when you hear Smith's amazing acoustic version of "Latch." Stripping away all the synthesized sounds, his vocals take center stage surrounded by chilling string and piano sections. Stream or watch it below.
