[Watch] Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield Covers David Bowie's "Space Oddity" in Outer Space

It's always good to know that taxpayer dollars are being well spent. Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield took some time out of his busy schedule aboard the International Space Station to film his fantastic interpretation of David Bowie's classic "Space Oddity." It's the perfect setting for the song, and Hadfield doles it out with odd charm. Watch the first-ever music video made in space below.

[Listen] Disclosure Remixes Artful Dodger and Zoe Kypri's "No I Turn You On"

Disclosure pay homage to their UK garage forebears Artful Dodger, whose electronic dance beats inspired the London brother duo. Taking Artful Dodger's 2000 single "Please Don't Turn Me On" the pair have given it a crisp sheen, turning the soulful track into a pulsating dancefloor hit. On top of that, they've brought in London singer Zoe Kypri to add her vocals, providing a perfect complement to the lyrics of the original. Check out the remix, titled "No I Turn You On," below.

[Watch] Tame Impala Covers Outkast's "Prototype" for Triple J

If you had to guess one of Tame Impala's "favorite songs ever" what would it be? I bet you wouldn't have guessed that it's Outkast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below cut "Prototype." Visiting Triple J studios, the Australian outfit chose to cover that song for the radio station's ongoing "Like A Version" segment. The band turns the mellow funk-laden jam into a reverbed psychedelic number, and it's actually really good. Check it out below.

[Listen] AlunaGeorge Cover "I Wanna Be Like You" from The Jungle Book

AlunaGeorge dig deeper into the Disney vault after modernizing fairy tales earlier this week, this time focusing on The Jungle Book. For those who remember the 1967 film, it featured a ton of memorable songs that, for me at least, have stuck around well past childhood. AluneGeorge decided to cover Louis Prima's "I Wanna Be Like You" during a BBC Radio 1 live set, and their take on the classic is pretty fantastic. Stream it below.

[Listen] Azealia Banks Covers The Strokes' "Barely Legal"

Azealia Banks shows her love for The Strokes' 2001 debut Is This It with a lush cover of "Barely Legal". Premiering a few days ago on New Zealand radio station George FM, the cover features production from Lindbergh Palace, who replaces the traditional guitars and drums with pulsating basslines and spacey synthesizers. Banks' vocals are the clear highlight though, with the Harlem rapper charismatically testing her talents with Julian Casablancas' lyrics. Stream the cover below.

[Listen] Jessie Ware - "Diamonds" (Rihanna Cover) in Radio One's Live Lounge

Today during the weeks ongoing Best Breakthrough act Live Lounge sessions Radio One has been holding all week, the wonderful Jessie Ware stepped up to perform. Now as we know by this point the Live Lounge can result in some rather odd songs being covered by artists, but today, Jessie covered something which fitted her voice beautifully. It was what she says is her "...favourite pop song of last/this year" and it originally came from Rihanna's 2012 album, Unapologetic. She covered "Diamonds" and the results were breath taking from start to finish. We've given Jessie a lot of love over the past year, and I think this just goes to show how great of a live performer she is. [Listen] Biffy Clyro - "Merry Xmas Everybody" (Slade Cover) Live on Radio One

So Christmas is next week. Next frikkin' week guys! Feeling festive yet? I've been pretty grouchy myself but today while nursing a heavy head from lack of sleep in the office, my day was brightened and my festive cheer actually kicked into over drive for the first time this year. The reason for that was this merry sounding cover from Biffy Clyro of Slade's classic hit "Merry Xmas Everybody" complete with a false start and a little slip up from Simon half way through before a big sing along at the end. Wonderful. It took place in Fearne Cotton's house as part of her Christmas Party show today on Radio One. Check it out below and get in the spirit. Smile too 'cos the world didn't end!

Today's guest in Radio One's Live Lounge was the talented Mr. Ben Howard who brought along his backing band to put in some spine tingling performances of his recent singles but he also put in a fantastic cover. After performing "Esmerelda", "Only Love", "Keep Your Head Up" and a personal favourite track of mine at the moment, "Oats in the Water", he opted to take on Ellie Goulding's current single "Figure 8".
