[Listen] tUnE-yArDs and ?uestlove Cover Fela Kuti

The Roots' ?uestlove and tUnE-yArDs have teamed up for a cover of Fela Kuti's "Lady," which is to be included on an upcoming compilation titled Red Hot + FELA. The track is available to stream below, and can also be purchased on iTunes. The compilation is a collaboration between RED, an AIDS charity, and Red Hot Organization, with all proceeds benefitting the charities' battle against AIDS.

According to Billboard, the compilation, which also marks the beginning of the (RED) RUSH TO ZERO campaign, will be released later this fall.

[Listen] Ellie Goulding x Xaphoon Jones - "High For This" (The Weeknd Cover)

Since the release of her debut album a few years back, Ellie Goulding has been just about everywhere. Toured the world and even played the Royal Wedding in the UK last summer. Not bad eh? Since then though it has been a little quiet from the Goulding camp. She's now teamed up with Chiddy Bang-producer Xaphoon Jones to cover The Weeknd. I like the sound of this already. They cover the Canadian's House of Balloons cut "High or This" and the results are a delight for the ears. Check it out below. Listen to this interesting clash of creative forces below. [Watch] Florence & the Machine - "Wild Wild Life" (Talking Heads Cover)

We know Florence Welch likes to don some pretty flamboyant attire every now and again but to announce her headline set at Bestival over the Summer she has done something a little more left field. Florence and 3 others have covered Talking Heads' track "Wild Wild Life" whilst wearing a the costumes of a penguin, a fox, a lion and finally a rabbit! YACHT have been a little quiet bar their cover of Brigitte Fontaine's "Le Goudron" last month when they announced a string of tour dates. Today we get another cover from the Portland band. They've taken on the Velvet Underground & Nico's "I'll Be Your Mirror". You can see what you think of the pretty great sounding cover below via The NJ Underground.

[Watch] Best Coast - "Storms" (Fleetwood Mac Cover)

Best Coast have been busy touring and promoting their recently released LP, The Only Place. At a stop on their tour in LA  at The Wiltern, the band covered Fleetwood Mac's classic track, "Storms". Bethany takes centre stage and delivers a great vocal performance. The footage can be watched at the top of the page and it's pretty decent fan shot video from front and centre at the gig.

New kids on the block Reptar have not long ago released their full-length debut, Body Faucet via Vagrant Records. Today though we get a different cut from the band as they offer up an impressive sounding cover of New Order's "Age of Consent" which featured on their 1983 album Power, Corruption & Lies.

[Listen] The Killers - "Go All The Way" (The Rasberries Cover)

You may be aware that Tim Burton has a new film coming out rather soon and surprisingly enough it stars Johnny Depp in a leading role. The film in question is Dark Shadows, and was released yesterday for opening weekend. As with all films, it comes with a soundtrack on on said soundtrack The Killers appear covering The Rasberries' 1972 track "Go All the Way". [Listen] Oberhofer Covers Kanye West's "Runaway"

Kanye West's "Runaway" has been covered many times live by Brooklyn indie band Oberhofer, but now the band has released an official recording of their rendition of Ye's iconic track. While their version of the song doesn't evoke the emotional intensity of Kanye's original, the sprawling soundscape and echoing piano chords do the song justice. After all, it's always good to hear how other musicians interpret each other's work. Download and stream it below.
