[Listen] The Maccabees - "Lonely Boy" (The Black Keys Cover) in Radio One's Live Lounge
Another week, another BBC Radio One Live Lounge and this week UK's The Maccabees entered into the studio to lay down a cover. The band take on new Arena fillers The Black Keys' huge hit "Lonely Boy" taking the fuzzy monster and giving it a little smooth over, turning into a polished little number. A lighter version if you will that have some ghostly vocals thrown in for good measure. See what you think up at the top.
[Listen] Benjamin Francis Leftwich - "Look At Miss Ohio" (Gillian Welch)
A few weeks ago we posted up a great sounding cover of The Beatles' "Ticket To Ride" from Benjamin Francis Leftwich, a man we knew could already knock out a great cover after his Covers EP last year! So, today another surprise from Ben has appeared online in the shape of his cover of Gillian Welch's Soul Journey featuring track "Look At Miss Ohio". See what you make of BFL's take on the track. Still blown away by the sounds he's making these days. Very much looking forward to seeing him on the road again later this year and if you want to see him in a live setting too, jump over here to peep his extensive tour dates..
[Listen] Bon Iver Covers Anais Mitchell's "Coming Down"
During a recent visit to Australia, Bon Iver sat down in the studio of Australian radio network Triple J to do a live performance of their song "Calgary." While there, Justin Vernon and co. gave some love to past collaborator Anais Mitchell, whose 2010 album Hadestown featured the guest vocals of Vernon himself. Following their live performance of "Calgary," tha band performed a subtle rendition of Mitchell's song "Coming Down," which was part of her recent album Young Man in America. Give the cover a listen below, and head here to watch Bon Iver's live performance at the Triple J studio.

[Listen] First Aid Kit - "Dancing Barefoot" (Patti Smith Cover)
Following up the Beyoncé cover we saw heard from Sleigh Bells earlier, First Aid Kit have also offered up a cover song whilst visiting a radio station. Must be the Spring air fast approaching. As TwentyFourBit points out the Swedish duo visited French Radio station Le Mouv and laid down their interpretation of Patti Smith's 1979 track, "Dancing Barefoot". These two never cease to amaze me and bring a little shiver to my spine with their soaring vocals and harmonies. Beautiful stuff.
[Watch] Sleigh Bells - "Irreplaceable" (Beyonce Cover)
Last Friday I took a trip to see Sleigh Bells live at their Manchester date and even though I dig the sound they create on record it just didn't quite gel for me in a live setting. Their new album has been widely adored by fans and it's true that they have their moments. Saturday Night Live for example was pretty decent. But that said I just couldn't get into it at a large show. However, this little number they put in whilst in London seems pretty cool. They paid a visit to Zane Lowe's Radio One show and covered Beyoncé's "Irreplaceable". See what you think of their take on one of Beyoncé's biggest tracks below via The NJ Undeground.
[Listen] Belle & Sebastian - "Crash" (The Primitives Cover)
LateNight Tales, a music compilation series that "invites the world’s best artists to delve deep into their music collections to create the ultimate ‘late night’ selection." The latest installment of the series comes courtesy of Belle & Sebastian and features tracks from Broadcast, The Pop Group, Toro Y Moi, and Gold Panda. As CoS point out, this installment features a cover from Belle & Sebastian of The Primitives’ 1988 single, "Crash". Give the cover a play down below and let us know what you think.
[Watch] Mariachi El Bronx - "Love Sick" (Bob Dylan Cover) Live on Leno
Whilst Fallon was holding back the excitement of hosting a weeks worth of goodness from Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Jay Leno played host to The Bronx's alter ego Mariachi El Bronx. They performed a a cover of Bob Dylan's "Love Sick" a lesser known Bobby D track from his 1997 album, Time Out of Mind. The band had covered the track on the recently released Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International. That huge 75-song compilation album of Bob Dylan covers from all sorts of musicians. More details on that over here, but firstly enjoy the live rendition at the top courtesy of The Audio Perv.
