[Listen] Memoryhouse - "This Will Be Our Year" (The Zombies Cover)
Toronto-based dream pop duo Memoryhouse are set to release their debut full length studio album The Slideshow Effect on February 28th via Sub Pop. In anticipation of the album's release, the duo have appropriately let loose a cover of The Zombies' 1968 hit "This Will Be Our Year." Even though it's not a single or track from the upcoming album, the cover is a fantastic representation of what the pair has in store, with their upbeat, layered sound being fleshed out in full force. The blend of the duo's signature dreamy atmosphere, frontwoman Denise Nouvion's stand out vocals, catchy guitar riffs and stylistic 1960s organ sounds makes for an excellent New Years treat. You can listen to, and download, the track below.
[Watch] My Morning Jacket Cover Gil Scott-Heron and Bing Crosby
Wrapping up their winter tour dates, Kentucky rockers My Morning Jacket played one final show at New York's famed Madison Square Garden last week. The band has been known to play covers while on stage, and this show was no different. During their performance, the Louisville outfit played a cover of the late Gil Scott-Heron's "The Bottle," as well as a cover of Bing Crosby's Christmas classic "I'll Be Home For Christmas," which was included on the band's holiday-themed iTunes session. The Bing Crosby classic also saw their opening act Band of Horses join in to play along. You can check out video footage of their covers after the jump.

[Watch] Stephin Merritt - "Dream Again" (Franz Ferdinand Cover) (Official Video)
Following Monday's video for LCD Soundsystem's cover of Franz Ferdinand's "Live Alone," we have the second of three videos to be released this week from the Record Store Day exclusive Franz Ferdinand Covers EP. Today's clip is of The Magnetic Fields frontman Stephin Merritt's cover of "Dream Again," and sees Walkmens, stereos, speakers and all kinds of audible machinery coming to life and singing along to the song. It's basically a creepy, audiophile dream. You can check out the Russell Weekes-directed video in the player above.
[Watch] LCD Soundsystem - "Live Alone" (Franz Ferdinand Cover) (Official Video)
Eight months ago, LCD Soundsystem covered Franz Ferdinand's "Live Alone," one of the tracks from the band's 2009 studio effort Tonight: Franz Ferdinand. Now, the cover has an accompanying video, directed by Gabriel Pulecio. The video starts off with blurry, lens-flared clips of New York City, with visuals of a multi-coloured, L.E.D-infused, heart-type machine interspersed throughout. Despite being a little trippy and hard to understand, the visuals and cinematography are worth checking out. Take a look at the 7-and-a-half-minute clip in the player above.
[Listen] Tennis - "Tears in the Typing Pool" (Broadcast Cover)
With the release of their Patrick Carney-produced sophomore LP inching ever closer, Denver-based indie pop group Tennis are doing a fantastic job of keeping their name in the spotlight. Today, the band released a cover of Broadcast's "Tears in the Typing Pool," a song that was originally released on the Burmingham outfit's 2005 album Tender Buttons. Tennis remains faithful to the original song, maybe even playing it a bit too safe. Nonetheless, the cover is a nice gift for a Thursday afternoon, so give it a listen below.
Tennis' sophomore album Young and Old is due out on February 14th via Fat Possum.
[Listen] Youth Lagoon - "Goodbye Again" (John Denver Cover)
You wake up, you go to work, you go home, rinse, repeat. Too many people don't use their bedroom for much more than sleep. Don't you all go being dirty in your heads at that statement. The reason I say that is Youth Lagoon moulded his sound in his very own bedroom and not too long ago put out the great sounding album, The Year of Hibernation. Today, Disco Naiveté points us towards a recent session Youth Lagoon did for Sirius XMU, and whilst there he laid down a cover of John Denver’s "Goodbye Again". Awesome stuff. Check it out below.
[Listen] Titus Andronicus and The So So Glos - "Glory Days" (Bruce Springsteen Cover)
New Jersey-based band Titus Andronicus are a nice group of people, as our interview with Sleeper Agent's Alex Kandel can attest to, and the band has once again shown that they really do appreciate their fans. This time around, the band's lead singer Patrick Stickles let loose a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Glory Days" via his Twitter account. The cover sees brand new Titus Andronicus member Liam Betson on vocals doing his best Springsteen, while the rest of the band, with the help of Brooklyn band The So So Glos, adds their own flavour to the Springsteen classic. Head over to the band's SoundCloud page to give the cover a listen.
As well, speaking of Bruce Springsteen, the rock icon made yet another appearance on stage alongside The Gaslight Anthem during their recent show at New Jersey venue The Convention Hall in Asbury Park. You can check out the live performance here.
[Listen] Foster the People - "Macchu Picchu" (The Strokes Cover)
Foster the People were the most recent visitors to Radio One's Live Lounge and whilst their they performed a cover of The Strokes' "Macchu Picchu". This is the second Strokes cover we've had in as many days, see what you make of their take on the Angles track below via CoverMe.
Surprisingly the guys also played a rendition of their 2011 hit "Pumped Up Kicks" which you can listen to over here if you so wish and it's still playable to you. I don't dislike it, but it's been hard to escape that track this year!
