[Listen] GIRLS - "My Whole Life Story" (Holy Shit Cover)

San Francisco-based indie pop duo GIRLS recently released their second studio album Father, Son, Holy Ghost, and, along with a current Fall tour, the pair have been hard at work supporting the album. Frontman Christopher Owens visited French indie website MagicRPM to perform a cover for their Sans Piles sessions. The song Owens chose to cover is Holy Shit's "My Whole Life Story," and it's clear that he cares deeply about the track. You can watch and listen to Owens' unique interpretation in the player above.

[Watch] Neon Hitch - "No Hands" (Waka Flocka Flame Cover)

Neon Hitch has dropped a couple of left field covers in recent months. First up we got a video of her covering Wiz Khalifa's "On My Level" then a little bit later on we had a video of her tackling Kreayshawn's viral hit, "Gucci Gucci". Today comes yet another cover and it's of Waka Flocka Flame's "No Hands".  The backwards video sees NH in a black netted outfit with her hands handcuffed behind her back with a few half dressed extras to boot(y).

[Listen] Bon Iver - "If Hollywood Don't Need You (Honey I Still Do)" (Don Williams Cover)

We know by now that Bon Iver like to play cover songs live, and we've even had a few studio versions to indulge in, most notably would be the great Bonnie Raitt cover of "I Can’t Make You Love Me". Today courtesy of our buddies at TwentyFourBit you can enjoy the band covering  the 1983 single from Don Williams, "If Hollywood Don't Need You (Honey I Still Do)". The cover may not be what you're used to from Justin Vernon and co but the cover is a great listen and a welcome addition to any fans catalogue of Vernon.

[Download] Queen Of Hearts - "Spanish Sahara (Foals cover)"

Ever wondered what Foals would sound like if you stuffed them full of glitter and sexy synthy beats? Well, it looks like you don't have to wonder for much longer. Straight from her upcoming EP The Arrival (which drops October 3rd) comes a sultry little synth version of "Spanish Sahara" by Queen of Hearts. I'm not super huge into Foals so this doesn't move me quite as much as previous covers I've posted in the past, but it's quite an interesting take on the song. The track was produced by Dreamtrak and is packed with sugary pop vocals just like that Monarchy produced track "Perfect Mistake" was that we posted awhile back.

[Listen] Peter, Bjorn & John – "Try a Little Tenderness" (The Ray Noble Orchestra/Otis Redding Cover)

Two months ago if you'd of asked the majority of music lovers about Otis Redding or the track featured here, "Try A Little Tenderness", people may have scratched their heads and continued to go on with their daily business whilst muttering "who is that guy asking me to try some tenderness?" under their breath. However, due to it's use in the recent track from Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch The Throne, (it's "Otis" in case you're wondering), the track has seen remixes over the past month and if you so wish, you can now ask people about Otis without the aforementioned confusion. Maybe.

Anyway, with the new found adoration/radio play for the track comes this cover of original track from those swedish guitar donning men that are Peter, Bjorn and John. Taking the non obvious cover, they turn it into a poppy yet fuzz filled direction that shows a different approach, all be it a pretty cool one that's well worth a watch/listen. Check it out below via A.V. Undercover.

[Download] James Vince McMorrow - "Higher Love" (Steve Winwood cover)

Covers covers covers! I love covers! But only really great covers, don't you worry!

The man with the gorgeous voice that haunts you in your sleep, James Vincent McMorrow has covered a personal favorite of mine "Higher Love" by the legend that is Steve Winwood.

I absolutely love how a cover from an artist that isn't particularly of the same genre can transform a song into something you wouldn't have expected it to ever be able to pull off and this cover in particular does just that.

James is heading out on tour starting on the 8th in Philly at Johnny Brenda's.  Have a peek at the tour dates after the jump for more info.
