[Listen] Stream Jack Magma's New Single "SuperPowers"

Earlier today, Shey introduced you all to Men's Adventures, but the introductions don't stop there. We've got another new one for ya, a relative newcomer named Jack Magma. He's only released one song before this one, "Cat Gotcha Tongue?!?," which he released last November. Despite his limited material, this new song "SuperPowers" is somethin' else.

The song kicks off with bright '80s-inspired catchiness, unfolding with synths of all kinds. Deep groaning bass underlies a swath of colorful synthesizers straight from the sample bank of 1983, but where it really shines are the infused R&B elements. Magma's vocals are buttery smooth and sexual, with the whole song echoing a blend of Kindness and Miguel. It's fantastic. That vibe comes to a halt two-thirds in, as the bass drops and all we hear is distant, echoing synths and the grimey riffs of a reverbed guitar. The first minute had me sold. The whole song leaves me wanting more.

"SuperPowers" and "Cat Gotcha Tongue?!?" are the first two singles from Magma's upcoming debut EP An Electric Purple, set for release sometime this year. Stream both tracks below, or download them for free here.

[Watch] Wavves Cut Shit Up in the Clip for "That's On Me"

A portly middle-aged man has the time of his life in Wavves' new video for "That's On Me." Wielding axes, swords and all kinds of slicey weapons, the man cuts up a bunch of shit while being cheered on by a trio of cheerleaders. It's fun watching stuff get sliced in slow motion. Oh yeah, and the cheerleaders eat a bunch of greasy, saucy meat. This one is definitely not for the vegans and vegetarians out there.

[Listen] RAC Remixes Joywaves' "Tongues"

For his latest remix, RAC set his sights on Joywave's glitchy and addictive electronic number "Tongues." Taking the horns out of the equation and toning down the pulsating beat, RAC inches the dial away from electronic a bit. He adds strings and harps, simplifies the percussion in favor of bassy synths, and overall gives the song a breath of fresh air. Check out the lush remix below, along with the original.

[Watch] The Roots Cover "Get Lucky" on Jimmy Fallon, Rap Over Mario's Iconic Theme Song

Jimmy Fallon's suggestion box has led to some pretty iconic moments for the late night host, such as this highlight. This week saw not one but two awesome moments courtesy of requests from Fallon fans. First was the introduction of Black Simon & Garfunkel (aka ?uestlove and “Captain” Kirk Douglas), who covered Daft Punk's radio-consuming single "Get Lucky" with quiet grace. The only downside is that the folksy cover lasts a minute and a half.

Next up was The Roots' frontman Black Thought. In honor of Video Game Week on Late Night, Mario's iconic 8-bit theme song gets a hip-hop reworking. Watch Black Thought spit fireballs over the theme below.

[Listen] Men's Adventures - 'Solitary Trip' (Full EP Stream)

How about some brand new music from a band we've never mentioned before to get you in the mood for the weekend? London duo Men's Adventures are made up of Jimmy Casson, 27, and Alfie Smith, 26, longtime friends who take their name from the 60's and 70's comic book series. They have offered up their EP Solitary Trip for listening in full. The opening track "BB Vulture" has me riding a horse across the desert in my mind and by the end of the EP I'm sat atop a mountain watching the sun set. It's quite the ride, and well worth a portion of your day. I can't guarantee you'll have the adventure I did in my head though. Nice and relaxed to help you wind down from a stressful week in the office. Check it out in full below and look out for it when it's released via Dirty Bingo Records on the 24th of June.
