[News] Wilco Announces More Summer Tour Dates
Wilco's 2012 tour schedule is already packed, but the band has decided that a few more additions were necessary. Adding to their itinerary are a pair of dates in both Brooklyn and Vienna, Virginia, along with one-night performances in Charlottesville, Virginia, Davenport, Iowa, and Columbus, Ohio. As well, the band will be returning to Los Angeles to perform at the Hollywood Bowl after a short European festival circuit. Check out their full itinerary after the jump.
[News] Scissor Sisters Announce Summer Tour
Following the May 29th release of their fourth studio LP Magic Hour, New York outfit Scissor Sisters will hit the road in support of the studio effort. Starting on June 15th, the tour will take the group to 16 cities across North America, with the final performances taking place on July 6th and 7th with a pair of shows at New York's Terminal 5. [Listen] El-P feat. Despot and Killer Mike - "Tougher Colder Killer"
Next month, El-P will return with a brand new LP titled Cancer for Cure, and today the illustrious hip hop figurehead dropped another preview from the forthcoming album. We've already heard "The Full Retard," and the new cut, titled "Tougher Colder Killer," is equally as banging. The song also features Despot and Killer Mike, both of whom will tag along with El-P on his just announced upcoming tour. Along with Despot and Killer Mike, El-P will be joined on tour by none other than Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire, and all four will hit the road together starting on June 19th in Atlanta. From there, they will visit 21 cities over the course of almost one month, ending their trek in Washington, DC on July 15th. [News] Modest Mouse Announces Short Summer Tour
After reports surfaced that Portland indie-rock outfit Modest Mouse were working on a brand new LP with Outkast's Big Boi taking on production duties, we couldn't help but get excited. With no new information regarding the album since the news broke, at least we can find comfort with the fact that MM will be touring this summer, albeit for a very short period of time. From June 20th to the 26th, the Portland band will be performing a pair of shows in Washington, DC, as well as one-night stints in Pittsburgh and Columbus, Ohio. They will also be performing at this year's Governors Ball Music Festival in New York and Orion Music + More in Atlantic City, NJ. Take a look at all the details after the jump.
[News] Rufus Wainwright Announces Summer Tour
On May 1st, Rufus Wainwright will be releasing his seventh studio album Out of the Game via Decca Records, and in support of the forthcoming release Wainwright has announced a summer tour. After several shows throughout Europe and the UK, Wainwright will return to North America on May 9th to perform in Brooklyn, followed by shows in Oakland, Los Angeles and San Diego. From there, the musician will do several back and forth trips across the Atlantic till August, before setting off on a strictly European tour in November and December. [News] Alabama Shakes Announce Headlining Summer Tour Dates
Alabama Shakes' 2012 is getting better and better, with their debut LP Boys & Girls reaching No. 20 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Independent Label chart, an upcoming sold out tour with Jack White planned, and now they've announced yet another headlining tour. Following their sold out tour with Jack White and appearances at both Sasquatch! and Bonnaroo, Alabama Shakes will perform a free show on June 24th in New York's Central Park alongside Diamond Rugs and Robert Ellis as part of the city's SummerStage concert series. [News] Andrew Bird Announces Extended Summer Tour Dates
Indie folk musician Andrew Bird has announced an extended summer tour in support of his latest LP Break It Yourself, with the tour kicking off on May 3rd in Philadelphia. Carrying straight through till August, the extensive tour will see Andrew Bird performing with help from Wilco, Mavis Staples, Patrick Watson, Mucca Pazza and Tift Merritt, as well as performances at Outside Lands and several other major festivals.
