[Watch] The Wombats - "Jump Into The Fog" Live on Conan
The Liverpudlian noisemakers known as The Wombats were a long way from home last night. They performed their track "Jump Into The Fog" on Conan, which appeared on their 2010 album, This Modern Glitch. The track may be over a year old but the guys deliver it with a fresh sense of urgency. Enjoy it up at the top via The Audio Perv.
[Watch] The Wombats - "1996" (Official Video)
Two posts regarding The Wombats in one day!? Definitely not a bad thing is it. Check out the visuals for their track "1996" which featured on their latest release, This Modern Glitch. The video sees Murph and co walking round a weird looking scuba-diving fetish party, or maybe it's meant to be a metaphor for something far deeper and he's drowning in the world he's so desperate to get out of. Whatever, a cool looking visual that sits alongside this track rather well. Thanks to our friends at Listen Before You Buy for the heads up on this one.

Liverpudlian hook makers, The Wombats, have offered up another single from their latest album This Modern Glitch. And I thought Afrojack's remix of The Wombat's latest single "Techno Fan" was awesome. Then comes along SKoA favorite, producer/DJ, Diplo with his take on the new tune and turns it into the perfect club banger, which of course comes to us as no surprise as he's been killing tracks left and right lately. Check out the remix of "Techno Fan" below which you can download for free over at RCRD LBL (after creating a free account, if you don't have one already). Then check out the original version on The Wombats' latest release This Modern Glitch which is in stores now.
[Listen] The Wombats - "Price Tag" (Jessie J Cover In BBC Live Lounge)
Liverpudlian music makers The Wombats were Fearne Cotton's musical guests yesterday on her morning slot on Radio One. They performed a great rendition of their current single . But in addition to that, as you may have learnt by this point, when bands step into the Live Lounge they often bring along a re-worked cover to perform for the masses. Yesterday The Wombats took on the hit single from Jessie J, "Price Tag" with the help of some backing singers and a host of instruments and the results were pretty damn good. Check it out below.

Courtesy of Spin you can now download yourself the B-Side to The Wombats' latest single, "Tokyo" which has actually been a top 40 hit here in the UK and receives regular air play. The B-Side is titled "A Robot Like You" and according to lead singer Murphy the track is about being in a dark place. He told Spin, "Its about feeling quite lost and empty. Perhaps its about structure and the idea that everything is mapped out for us from the word go." Check out the track below and if you like it download it to have it in your iTunes forever more.
[News] Radio One's Big Weekend Main Stage Lineup Revealed; Foo Fighters, My Chemical Romance, Lady Gaga...
Every year Radio One put on their 'Big Weekend' at which a range of artists play slots to fans all who have won tickets for the event. I personally won tickets one year and the atmosphere is great due to everyone having a free weekend watching some great bands it truly is a little bit special. You may not like the entire lineup due to it being mainly Radio One plugged artists, and we wouldn't blame you. However with the amount of bands set to play there's always a stage to enjoy something at.
This year they announced, literally within the past hour, that Foo Fighters would be headlining the Saturday, with My Chemical Romance topping the bill on the Sunday. Then throughout both days on the main stage there's the likes of Tinie Tempah, Plan B, Chase and Status, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Black Eyed Peas, Nicole Sherzinger, Professor Green, Katy B, The Wombats, The Script along with a few others. That's just the main stage, throughout the week the other stages will be announced on numerous Radio One shows so keep your eyes peeled as we'll update this as and when. You can see the announced line up so far over here. Tickets are often given out in a raffle style way, or to loyal listeners of Radio One, and you enter competitions and what not. It's hard to get tickets but it's definitely worth a shot for a weekend full of free music. For now why not enjoy some footage of Muse playing the weekend a few years back.
UPDATE: Lady Gaga has just been announced too! For a free festival some of its performers rival those of major UK festivals. Just sayin'.
