[SONG OF THE DAY] MID CITY - "Old Habits"

Right so you’re welcome in advance for your new obsession.

Fam, please allow me to introduce you to the band you’ve been waiting all year for, MID CITY. Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, these dudes are about to blow out your fucking eardrums in the best possible way. You know how in cartoons a character would do something normal like open a random door but then unsuspectingly get run over by a train? That’s what their latest single, “Old Habits”, feels like in your earholes. This is some high octane indie rock for fans of bands like The Walkmen or more recently (and incidentally enough, also Australian) Gold Class. I imagine that listening to “Old Habits” paired with The Walkmen’s “The Rat” and Gold Class’ “Twist In The Dark” back to back could give the faint of heart some palpitations.

Earlier this week the band unveiled the video for the single in addition to announcing some tour dates (which are nowhere close to me whatsoever 😩) for January and February 2019. Aussie fam please make sure you go see these guys and report back on their live show for me so I can be jealous, k?

[Watch] Vampire Weekend Have Their Last Supper in the Clip for "Diane Young"

Vampire Weekend brought a bunch of their friends together and had one last supper. The ensuing debauchery sees the band, along with Chromeo, Santigold, Dirty Projectors' David Lonsgtreth, Sky Ferreira and The Walkmen's Hamilton Leithauser, partying lavishly. If there's one thing to take away from the "Diane Young" video, it's that saxophones make for good pipes. Check it out below.

Modern Vampires of the City, Vampire Weekend's third album, is out now.

[Watch] The Walkmen - "The Love You Love" (Official Video)

The Walkmen have premiered the creepy new video for their track "The Love You Love". It was recorded in an old haunted house. The kind you and your friends would go exploring in when you were a kid. The kid in this video is actually played by guitarist Paul Maroon's son. The black and white clip is a little creepy to watch. Check it out at the top and if you haven't done so already, pick up their new album, Heaven, which is out now.

The video, directed by Alex Southam, features photos and archived videos of the band from various points throughout their lives and careers, befitting to the nostalgic feel of the song itself.
