[Listen] The Ting Tings - "Soul Killing"
It has been four years since Manchester duo The Ting Tings released their debut album We Started Nothing, and, since then, there is no doubt that the pair have kept themselves busy. After extensive touring, they started recording their sophomore LP in Berlin, but ultimately scrapped it and headed to Spain to start over. The result of this Spanish endeavor is Sounds From Nowheresville. We've already heard the lead single from the album, "Hang It Up," and today Spinner has premiered another track from the forthcoming album. The track, titled "Soul Killing," is an energetic, reggae-driven track that features some simple horn instrumentation and the use of Spanish rocking chairs. When speaking to Spinner, lead singer and guitarist Katie White said that "'Soul Killing' is about frustration in this biz. This is a real squeaking rocking-chair song. Don't let anyone shoot you down!!!" Give the song a listen below.
Sounds From Nowheresville is out on Feburary 27th in the U.K. and on March 13th in North America.

[News] The Ting Tings Detail Sophomore Album 'Sounds From Nowheresville'
On February 27th, Manchester pop rock duo The Ting Tings will be releasing their long awaited sophomore studio album, now titled Sounds From Nowheresville. The album is a departure from the mainstream, pop-oriented sound of their first album, with Jules de Martino revealing to SPIN.com that "[w]e didn't want to repeat everything we'd been through in Manchester, working in that environment. So we wanted to find a new challenge, and living in Berlin was a massive challenge: the language barrier, the food, the isolation." First, the duo went to Paris to write the album, then spent eight months in Berlin and Mercia, Spain recording what they had written.
When talking about influences, the duo revealed that Pet Shop Boys, Fleetwood Mac, Beastie Boys, Talking Heads and even Merill Garbus of tUnE-yArDs, all influenced the finished product. Leading lady Katie White even stated that Garbus' live performances were very influential: "We had a look onstage at what she was doing with her loop pedals. She's an amazing singer."
Sounds From Nowhere is out on February 27th in the U.K. and in early March in the U.S. As well, you can take a look at the album's track listing after the jump.

[Watch] The Ting Tings - "Silence" (Official Video)
The Ting Tings have followed up their comeback track "Hang It Up" quickly with another song titled "Silence". I still can't fully get behind The Ting Tings and I can't quite put my finger on why. Maybe it's my mind blocking them out due to the mass repetitiveness of "That's Not My Name". I'll re-assess my thoughts and come back to you some time in the near future on my final decision. Leave your thoughts though, it's always nice to get an outside opinion on things. Hat top to ListenBeforeYouBuy for the heads up on this.
[Watch] The Ting Tings - "Hang It Up" (Video)
Peep out a new track and video from pop rockers The Ting Tings titled "Hang It Up" from their yet to be titled upcoming sophomore album. I seriously love the beat from this track, but would love it alot more if Katie White's vocals werent super annoying. But check it out above and let us know your thoughts.
[Watch] Cee Lo Green x The Ting Tings - "Fuck You" (Live at Red Bull Soundclash)
We've seen Cee Lo do his world famous, smash hit from last year a hundred times by now. We've even seen him do it with movie stars. However today we get to see him do it with those fun loving brits, The Ting Tings. Check out the two brits and Cee Lo rocking "Fuck You" as part of the Red Bull Soundclash earlier this month. This track was the finale from the unusual pairing of the Ting Tings and Cee Lo and you can enjoy the resuts up at the top. Today just keeps on giving, huh?
[Watch] The Ting Tings - "Hands" (Acoustic)
In between creating a fragrance for Tommy Hilfiger, The Ting Tings have found time to drop into the BBC and record this acoustic version of "Hands". Pretty downtempo in comparison to the original but it shows another dimension to the band and I think it works well as an arrangement. You can grab a download of the track they previewed when the fragrance launched titled "We're Not The Same" too, if you need a larger Ting Tings fix. Hear the original version of "Hands" and official neon light filled video here.
