Now the band is set to hit the road with none other than soulful crooner Mayer Hawthorne which is like a match made in soulful indie heaven. In celebration of their upcoming tour, the band has released Union's remix of their single "Surburban Dream" featuring Pharoahe Monch and Stones Throw labelmate Homeboy Sandman. Unfortuately for Team SKOA, SXSW 2012 was just not in the cards for us this year. Don't think we're going to leave you emptyhanded on the happenings and goings on of the festival, though! Throughout the week we'll be highlighting events we think you should attend and bands you simply must check out if you happen to be hitting the streets in Austin this week.

[Watch] The Stepkids - "Suburban Dream" (Official Video)
Today, Connecticut psych rock trio The Stepkids let loose the visuals for their track "Suburban Dream," off of their debut LP, which was released in September of this year. The video features a sketch of a suburban kid being brought to life through some awesome animation, and follows him through a psychadelic dreamscape of the big city. Check out the visual splendor for yourself in the player above.

A middle aged white man who wouldn't look out of place in any office in well, the world, and add to that a boom-box and hip-hop. It's not exactly the image you'd picture when either of those things were mentioned to you however, The Stepkids have created this comical video for their track "Legend In My Own Mind" which sits alongside the track. Crack out your gold chains and Kangol flat caps 'cos if this guy can rock it, anyone can.
