[Watch] The Raveonettes - "The Enemy" (Official Video)
The Raveonettes' sixth LP Observator is officially out, and to add to the enjoyment of hearing the album these past few days is the video for the album track "The Enemy". Directed by Imogen Prado, the video is simply executed, focusing almost entirely on the faces of band members Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo. It is in the editing that the video really stands out, though, as fluorescent lights and psychedelic colours swirl and flourish throughout the shots. Check it out above via NPR.

[Watch] The Raveonettes - "She Owns The Streets" (Official Video)
Camcorder footage follows a girl around the streets in The Raveonettes' new video for the single "She Owns The Streets", visuals that take the lyrics of the song very literally. She dances on the subway, she dances in the middle of the street, she dances in a basketball court. She pretty much owns the streets with her dancing. Check it out above.

The Raveonettes' sixth LP Observator is set to arrive on September 11th, and the duo has let loose another single from the forthcoming effort. We've already heard "Observations," and below you can stream and download the second single from the album titled "She Owns The Streets." Here's what Sune Rose Wagner had to say about the song:
The real people I’d met and experiences I had over the last year in NY and Venice, CA all bled into these new songs. ‘She Owns The Streets’ for example is about a New York City street dancer. I’ve noticed her before dancing wildly on Bowery, running crazily in the street among the cabs and horrified passers-by. A friend of mine introduced me to her and we struck up a friendship. In 20 minutes I had written a song about the pleasures and pitfalls of being perceived as either a drug-crazed girl or an insane individual, simply because she dares to defy the laws of civility and conformity. Isolation can be a wonderful thing, but it doesn’t afford you this kind of inspiration."

A few weeks back, Danish dream pop duo The Raveonettes announced their sixth LP Observator, the follow-up to last year's Raven in the Grave. The album, which will be released on September 11th through VICE Records, now has a lead single titled "Observations." The song features a hauntingly beautiful piano and the evocative wailing of a slide guitar combining to form the crux of a wholly eery number. Head over to RollingStone.com to stream the track, which singer/guitarist Sune Rose Wagner describes as "sort of the blueprint for this album. It captures a universal feeling of the outsider in his daily life, his longing and losses in love and his primordial instinct of survival."
The Raveonettes are also going on tour in support of the album, with their first performance set for September 21st in Portland. Check out their tour schedule after the jump.

[News] The Raveonettes Announce New Album: 'Observator'
Danish dream pop duo The Raveonettes have announced their sixth studio LP, titled Observator, which is set to be released on September 11th via Vice Records. The LP is the band's third release in less than a year, following their Rarities/B-Sides compilation and Into The Night EP. The band's label described the album as "the greatest exploration of [the Raveonettes'] signature dark, big beat, melancholic, fuzzy sound to date.” Adding to the process was Sune Rose Wagner's alcohol fueled benders turn creative lucidity: "I get a lot of my ideas when I'm out. I get drunk and have moments of lucidity where I scribble down notes and thoughts. The next day, I'll start channeling the thoughts I had the previous night. That's sort of always worked for me but this time, I had to go the long way round to remember that."
The band, once sobered, made their way to Hollywood's Sunset Sound studio with producer Richard Gottehrer, a process that was apparently very quick and easy: "Overall, we took just seven days to record Observator so in that context, it's one of the quickest and easiest albums we've ever done," said Wagner.
Along with the album details, the duo has announced a tour in support of the forthcoming release, with a summer of festival appearances will be followed by a fall tour throughout North America. From September 21st till October 12th, the band will stop by 15 cities across the continent. Check out the full tour schedule after the jump.
