[Listen] The Black Belles - 'The Black Belles' (Full Album Stream)
We been patiently waiting for this one for a while. The Black Belles have released a few singles including the rather catchy "Honky Tonk Horror", since we first heard about them. In the time they've been aining attention they got signed up by Jack White and Third Man Records, not forgetting about when helpied out Stephen Colbert on his recent exploits at Third Man and the venture into the music biz. Today however, you can stream their entire self-titled full length debut courtesy CoS. The four piece offer up a blend of garage rock that'll have you weak at the knees, all whilst looking cooler than we could ever hope to be.
For the next 7 days you can stream the album prior to it being released on November the 8th. You can also pre-order a copy over here if you like what you hear. You probably will. It's good.
[Listen] The Black Belles - "Honky Tonk Horror"
Ever since getting a taste of Third Man Records goth rock quartet, The Black Bells and their first single "What Can I Do?" and their later collaboration with Stephen Colbert "Charlene II (I’m Over You)", we've been patiently waiting on when TMR would announce the release of their debut album. Finally that day has come, thanks to our good buddy The Audio Perv.
The Black Belles are set to release their newest single "Honky Tonk Horror" on 7″ vinyl, digitally via iTunes, and on September 24 and will feature the non album B-Side "Dead Shoe". The track is the band's first single from their upcoming self titled debut record, produced by none other than Jack White, is set to release this November. As with most Third Man releases, the single will also be released on a limited edition tri-color 7" sold only from the Third Man Rolling Record Store when The Black Belles appear at the Soundland Festival in Nashville, playing the Neuhoff Factory Stage (http://www.nbnsoundland.com/).

Jack White Writes Theme Song For Elvira's Movie Macabre
Nashville Scene is reporting that one of our favorite people in the world, Jack White is writing the theme song for the return of Movie Macabre (aka Elivra's Movie Macavbre), a TV show that ran from 1981-1983 that was alot like Mystery Science Theater 3000 before MST3K even existed.
The show is due to air September 25th on syndicated stations across the U.S., according to Cassandra Peterson (via Fangoria), who stars as Elvira in the show.
The show actually sounds pretty cool! According to an interview she did with Mondo Celluloid, Peterson says all the movies that will be on the show have all been digitally remastered so the show will be in HD. She's brought on Gris Grimely, an artist who is known for his dark children's books to do the intro and Jackie White is contributing to the music of the show. Further into the interview she reveals that Jack did a song with The Black Belles (video for "What Can I Do?" above) and that will be the theme song for the show. Regarding the song, Peterson said,
"It’s kinda spooky and cool - you guys are gonna dig it, man. We’re gonna make a vinyl out of it. Day-Glo vinyl!"
DAY-GLO VINYL?!?!? COUNT US IN!!
