[Listen] Hear 3 New Songs From Swahili Blonde's 2nd Album Featuring Former RHCP Guitarist John Frusciante
John Frusciante is a weird fellow, but probably the most amazing Guitarist alive today. Back 2009 John teamed up with girlfriend? (dont know if they are still together) multi instrumentalist Nicole Turley to form the experimental punk-funk outfit Swahili Blonde and recorded their debut album Man Meat. Frusciante later quit the band in search of...who knows.
But it appears the former Chili Pepper has once again returned to help the band create their sophomore album, Psycho Tropical Ballet Pink. We previewed the band's first new track off the new album "Etoile De Mer" a couple of months back and now you can check out 3 new songs "Purple Ink", the amazingly awesome cover of A-Ha's "Scoundrel Days" and "Zelda Has It" in the player below. The album is set to release on October 2nd. Now if we could only get another Frusciante solo record this year.

Nicole Turley and her outfit Swahili Blonde return with a new song titled "Etoile De Mer" (which means Starfish in French). The track features former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante who was once a full time member of the band but parted ways prior to the band's release of their debut album Man Meat. The song is set to appear on Swahili Blonde's sophomore album Psycho Tropical Ballet Pink which will be released on August 8th. Check out the new tune below and relax. Thanks to Invisible Movement for the heads up!

[SKoA Presents] Swahili Blonde
What happens when you get ex-WEAVE drummer/vocalist, ex-Red Hot Chili Peppers guitar virtuoso John Frusciante, violinist and bassist Laena Myers-Ionita, Duran Duran bassist John Taylor and multi-instrumentalists Stella Mozgawa and Michael Quinn together? One of the most awesome, experimental project/band ever? We think so!
I think their bio pretty much sums up everything: "Swahili Blonde began with Nicole Turley (ex-WEAVE! drummer & vocalist) sitting in a little room amidst a bunch of instruments and recording equipment she didn’t know how to use. After many long nights, she still didn’t completely understand how everything worked, but was happy with the unconventional sounds and compositions she was able to make. She ended up being so happy with the result of her efforts, that she decided to record and release a collection of songs for a full-length album, humorously called Man Meat.
The album consists of multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Turley giving a recorded voice to paralleled realities, vibrant visuals, and mismatched rhythms and patterns, musical and otherwise. Woven throughout the 7 songs are lucid and eloquent performances by violinist Laena Myers-Ionita, guitarist John Frusciante, bassist John Taylor, and multi-instrumentalists Stella Mozgawa & Michael Quinn."
Their album Man Meat is set to release July 6th via Manimal Vinyl. However, they already have 2 single available digitally, "Elixor Fixor" and "Dr. Teeth". You can download "Elixor Fixor" below and take a listen to two other songs off the album, the single "Dr. Teeth" and "Tigress Ritual" which is the first non instrumental song we've heard so far.
