[News] Frank Ocean, Muse, and Mumford & Sons to Perform on SNL
The 38th season of Saturday Night Live starts on September 15th, and they've announced some heavy hitting performances for the upcoming season. The premiere episode will see Family Guy creator Seth Macfarlane on hosting duties, while Odd Future crooner Frank Ocean will be performing. After cancelling his European tour, the SNL performance and a performance at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards will mark his return to the stage.
The following episode isn't slumping, either, as the Joseph Gordon-Levitt hosted episode, which will air on Sept. 22nd, will see Mumford & Sons performing live. Marcus Mumford and co. will be releasing their sophomore album Babel three days after the SNL appearance. Two weeks later, Daniel Craig will be hosting the late-night show, with Muse serving as the musical guest. The UK outfit will be supporting their upcoming album The 2nd Law, which is set for release on October 2nd. Not a shabby lineup if you ask me.
As a reminder of what you can expect, watch the replay of Frank Ocean performing "Bad Religion" on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon below.
[Watch] Foster the People Perform on Saturday Night Live
It goes without saying that Foster the People have exploded over the course of the summer, going from no-names to mainstream icons in less than a year. Their single "Pumped Up Kicks" has been blasted on radio stations all over the world, to the point that it is clearly overplayed. Whether or not you're off or on the Foster the People bandwagon, you can't deny that the band has had an impressive history. Last night, the L.A. trio made their way to the Saturday Night Live studio to perform both "Pumped Up Kicks" and "Houdini."
While it's clear they were a bit nervous to perform on SNL, especially frontman Mark Foster, the inclusion of an expanded band gave the lead singer some confidence. The group were even joined by Kenny G in the finalminutes of their performance of "Houdini." You can watch both performances after the jump.

[Watch] Interpol - Live At The Music Hall of Williamsburg 9/10/2010
These videos can't get much more NYC. You've got Interpol performing "Success", "Barricade" and "Stella Was A Diver And She Was Always Down" live from their September 10th, 2010 show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY. It gets better: SNL's Fred Armisen has graciously provided introduction clips for every video. Kinda random, but really funny nonetheless.
Who's going to see Interpol on this tour?
[Watch] The Lonely Island - "I Just Had Sex" (ft. Akon)
Check out the brand new single/digital short from the SNL comedy group The Lonely Island, whose second album The Best Damn Thing Ever is due out in 2011. The song, off of their second album, is exactly what you've come to expect from Andy Samberg and the rest of The Lonely Island crew, so enjoy a bit of comedic genius as well as cameos from Jessica Alba, Blake Lively, and the ever popular John McEnroe.
[Watch] Eminem & Lil Wayne Perform "No Love" x "Won't Back Down" x "6'7" For SNL
Weezy and Em tear it up for SNL with a live band as they perform their Recovery classic "No Love". Then later in the show both artist went solo and performed their respective hits "Won't Back Down" and Weezy's newest single "6'7" (6 Foot Seven Foot)". [Watch] Jay-Z Performs 8 Minute Medley and Young Forever with Mr Hudson on SNL
You know as big as Jay-Z is, his live performances never get tiring as he always finds some element to step his game up. Last Saturday's SNL performance was no difference, as he performed a sweet 8 minute medley of some classic hits starting off with The Black Album's P.S.A. (which is even more awesome to hear with a live band backing) then a short play of "On to the Next One", then rocked the house with the album version and mixing in Linkin Park's Point's of Authority off the LP/JZ mashup version of "99 Problems", then a random intro of "'03 Bonnie and Clyde" and finishing it off with the NY Anthem of the year "Empire State of Mind."
After, Jay returned to the stage with SKoA favorite Mr. Hudson to finish the show off with his recent hit "Young Forever." Definitely nice to see Mr. Hudson getting some spotlight on national TV. Bigups to him! Check out the video for the Medley above and Forever Young below.
