[Watch] Rival Schools - "Eyes Wide Open" (Video)

Guys: don't trust beautiful women with intense back tattoos in sexy red dresses. Especially if they have a gun and want to get in a limo with you. That's pretty much what I learned from Rival Schools' new video for their single, "Eyes Wide Open" off their latest release, Pedals.

The band is heading out on tour this fall starting in mid-October. For those of you lucky enough to be in Chicago this weekend for Lollapalooza, you can catch them not once but TWICE over the course of the weekend.

[Listen] Rival Schools - "69 Guns" (Blockhead Remix)

More remixes are starting to trickle in after Ad Rock of the Beasties laid down this dancetastic little re-working. Now it's L.E.S. beatmaker extraordinaire Blockhead's turn to give us a different spin on Rival Schools' hit track, "69 Guns".

Fun fact, Rival Schools' drummer Sammy Siegler and Blockhead went to the same grade school and have been playing basketball together for quite awhile now. It was there that the idea for a remix was born. Interestingly enough, that's how the Ad Rock remix came to pass as well.

As of today, there will be a remix EP featuring this remix, Ad Rock's and one from Daryl Palumbo of Glassjaw.

It appears that Beastie Boys' Ad Rock got a little antsy for his own album to drop (which is next week, btw). What to do? Remix a post-hardcore band, duhh! Not that we're complaining, as Ad Rock managed to take a bright guitar-driven song like Rival Schools' "69 Guns" and transform it with booty-bouncing beats over Walter Schreifels' a capella vocals into almost a completely different song. According to Spin, the band thought that it was a fun experiment for them, despite it defintely being new ground for them.

[Watch] Rival Schools - "Wring It Out" (Video)

In Rival Schools' newly released music video for their single, "Wring It Out" you'll find a perfectly eery video that does a massive indie hat tip tp The Exorcist. 

If you're like me, you've been anxiously waiting for their second installment, Pedals since  their 2001 release United By Fate. Fortunately, Pedals drops on March 8th, courtesy of Photo Finish Records.

"Wring It Out" definitely feeds the Rival Schools fix if you've been looking to not stray too far away from what United By Fate brought to the table. Very very very very excited for Pedals. In fact, I'm so pumped that they might sucker me into one of their several crazy pre-order options, where things like picture vinyl, hoodies, etc are additional music to my ears.
