[News] Outside Lands 2013 Announces Lineup
The official lineup for Outside Lands Festival 2013 is here, and it looks to be pretty good. Topping off the bill are Paul McCartney, Nine Inch Nails, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The National, Vampire Weekend, D’Angelo, Kaskade, Pretty Lights, Jurassic 5, Willie Nelson, Hall and Oates, and Grizzly Bear.
Rounding out the eclectic lineup are Wavves, Young The Giant, Band of Horses, A-Trak, Yeasayer, Matt & Kim, The Tallest Man on Earth, Foals, Youth Lagoon, Gary Clark Jr., Jessie Ware, Dillon Francis, Kurt Vile and the Violators, Surfer Blood, Chromatics and Smith Westerns. While not as good as last year's lineup, which was headlined by Metallica, Neil Young, The Kills, Foo Fighters, Jack White, Beck, Sigur Ros, this year seems promising. Check out the full lineup here or below in a ridiculously charming announcement video.
Tickets go on sale this Thursday, April 18th, at 12 noon PDT at the festival's official website. Outside Lands takes place August 9-11 in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.

[News] Trent Reznor Focusing On New NIN Material
What a few months Trent Reznor has had winning both Oscars and Golden Globes for his work on the Social network and it's original score. Yesterday though news got out that he is to re-focus on Nine Inch Nails and he did so by posting on a NIN Forum which you can check out over here.
In the thread Trent says, "The three columns of things I'm currently funneling music into — HDTA, NIN, and film work — I believe will start to make sense to you (and me) as everything unfolds," going onto say that he likes having multiple outlets; "By having a few different outlets for my work, I'm finding more inspiration within each one." So you can sleep soundly in your beds tonight, no, we know they won't be performing Live again after he announced that wouldn't happen again in 2009, but new material is on the not so distant horizon for NIN fans.
In relation to his film work Trent touches on the rumours of him starring in Tim Burton's co-produced Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Reznor says; "I was considering [a cameo] when I awoke a few days ago to the news that I am not STARRING in ALVH (which is obviously not true)... Fuck. We apparently forgot that the internet existed AND THERE ARE NO SURPRISES anymore. So…do me a favor and act surprised, OK?". So we will definately be seeing a lot more of Trent in the coming months and years.

[Listen] Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross - "In the Hall of the Mountain King"
Wanna hear one more track before the score is released tomorrow? Check out "In the Hall of the Mountain King" off Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross' score for the film The Social Network courtesy of Pitchfork, who have also provided an interesting interview with Trent Reznor and David Fincher. The track sounds very Wendy Carlos' A Clockwork Orange era, which is absolute love. Grab the soundtrack once it drops tomorrow here.
