[News] New Build Announce Debut Album 'Yesterday Was Lived and Lost'
With The 2 Bears' debut album Be Strong having dropped only a few days ago, it seems appropriate that Hot Chip's other side project would enter the spotlight. New Build, which consists of Hot Chip's Al Doyle and Felix Martin alongside composer and engineer Tom Hopkins, have announced that their debut LP is titled Yesterday Was Live and Lost, and will see an official release on April 3rd via Lanark Recordings. For those don't remember, the group's first single "Finding Reasons" was released in September of last year, and, along with the announcement, the group have put forth a four-track preview of the upcoming studio release. If the preview displays anything, it is that New Build knows what they want to sound like, and they're doing a damn good job of doing so. You can stream the four-track preview below, and look forward to more news regarding New Build and their debut album in the coming months.

New Build is a new project coming from Hot Chip members Al Doyle and Felix Martin. They've come together along with their engineer Tom Hopkins and the first track you can sample from them is titled "Finding Reasons". A little bit of a slower jam than you may have expected but it's still got more than a little dash of Hot Chip in it and the sounds of previous work does seep through the cracks. A nice first track though, so keep your eyes on the project as they hope to release a full length album in 2012. Thanks to Disco Naivete for the heads up on this one.
