[Watch] Muse - "Plug In Baby" Live At Rome Olympic Stadium
Earlier this year Muse played some huge stadium shows around Europe and it was honestly one of the biggest spectacles I've witnessed, even by Muse's standards. Their show at Rome's Olympic Stadium was recently released as a full on 4K recorded audio/visual extravaganza in cinemas and as an early Christmas present the band have uploaded a clip of them paying their classic hit "Plug In Baby" at the Italian show. Having dropped the majority of their older material in their recent shows, this track is a staple no matter what, with "Stockholm Syndrome" and "Hysteria" usually alternating nightly via a giant roulette table. If you've never seen Muse in a live setting it's sure to give you an idea of what these guys do on a nightly basis, and if you have, well, you know that you're about to hit play on a video from one of the best live bands in the world.
Along with this lovely little live tidbit, the band have stated that a follow up to last year's The 2nd Law could see the light of day as soon as early 2015. They've also stated that it could be a little more stripped back, with Matt Bellamy saying: "I have this strong feeling that the next album should be something that really does strip away the additional things that we've experimented with on the last two albums, which is electronics, symphonics and orchestral work and all that kind of stuff."
We'll keep you posted with more news on that but for now, enjoy the classic guitar hit below.
[Watch] Muse Release Mysterious New Video...
Muse have just released an intriguing looking video which simply states "THERE WILL BE NO WARNING" shortly after "Muse" warps to "MuZe". So what could this mean? Muselive point out that it could be related to the new WWZ film, hinting at possible ties to the soundtrack as the 'Z' used is the same? Watch the intriguing clip above and look out for more soon as we have been warned: There will be no warning. What do you guys make of it?
[Watch] Muse - "Panic Station" (Official Video)
Muse are probably one of the biggest bands in the world right now. Their latest release, The 2nd Law, may have divided opinion, but they sure as hell look like they're having fun with it. The video they released late yesterday to accompany the out there track "Panic Station" is a great example of a band not taking themselves too seriously. I mean, look at it. Strutting around in absolutely ridiculous outfits it's sure to say these rock titans still find it amusing to poke fun at themselves and I say, good on 'em. The band have been known to play pranks and mess around since the early oughties. They have, on numerous occasions, played badly set up kits, done forward rolls, and even changed instruments when asked to mime on TV shows, and even gone as far as to be interviewed as one another afterwards.
Bands take note: it's all just a bit of fun, so don't take yourselves seriously 24/7. The dinosaur, giant lady, slap bass, feather jacket filled video can be seen above.
[Watch] Muse - "Animals" (Official Video)
Being on the road pretty much constantly doesn't really leave you with much time to record new videos. Although we have seen a couple from Muse since the release of their latest album The 2nd Law. We've already had videos for "Madness", "Supremacy" and "Follow Me", although the latter was a live clip. So, for their latest release, "Animals", the band put on a competition and the winner has been picked and used as the official video. Funnily enough, this was the only entry I'd previously seen before they announced the winner and I thought it was pretty cool considering the concept of the song. This stood out as a highlight of the album for me, I don't know if it was the flicker of old Muse coming through or the side step from the rest of the curve ball album but I like it.
Regarding the clip the band said:
Your votes have been cast, the band have deliberated and we all seem to be in agreement that the excellent version of Animals by Inês Freitas and Miguel Mendes from Portugal is the winner of our Animals video competition.
Check out the topical animated video at the top.
[Watch] Muse - "Supremacy" (Official Video)
When Muse released their latest album, The 2nd Law, many people were a little, well, confused. It was a miss match of genres and styles but it kind of worked. Kind of. Their video for album opener "Supremacy" is a little odd too. It sees some black metal lovers hanging out, surfing and having a whale of a time in LA. It just doesn't match the Bond theme-like track it's paired with. The track on the other hand, I bloody love. Just not sold on the video here. Still, more riff please.
The 2nd Law is out now.
[Watch] Muse - "Follow Me" (Official Video)
Muse's latest studio effort was a mixed batch of genres and music. Their latest single "Follow Me" is the perfect example of them trying to do something new... but does it work. It has grown on me since the album was released, and in a live setting it does work especially well with Dom and Chris adding extra depth to the track but I'm not fully sold. Seeing as the band are busy touring none stop, the video for the single compiles some live clips of the band from their recent dates. Check it out at the top of the page.
The 2nd Law is out now.
[News] Muse Announce European Stadium Shows
Late last week Muse announced a handful of European Stadium shows set for 2013 and today they've added to that with some UK dates. Starting in May at Coventry's Ricoh Arena, it will make stops in London and Manchester before going on to Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris and Turin. I've had a feeling that they were building up to a return to Wembley Stadium but maybe I was wrong. If you're yet to witness Muse in a live setting then this might be a good chance to get a feel for it. I was anti-Muse until i saw them live and was converted instantly.
Tickets go on sales later this week and will surely sell out shortly after. Dates for Germany, Norway, Finland and Denmark are to follow. They've offered up some footage from their 2010 tour above to whet the appetites. Make the jump for the dates and links to purchase.

[Watch] Muse Visit Saturday Night Live
Muse continued their onslaught of the media with a visit to Saturday Night Live this weekend and performed their recent single Muse and that funk filled number known as "Panic Station". Both tracks are taken from their recently released album The 2nd Law and they receive a bit of help from a small brass section for the second performance which was a nice added touch. Two on point performances from a band that are going to be pretty much everywhere for the next 12 months or so.
UPDATE: After the jump, you can check out the dates for the band's just-announced North American tour.
