I've spent a couple of days out of the office and because of that I've become ill from the grim UK weather and not wrapping up warm enough. As well as that though I also let this beautiful performance from Micahel Kiwanuka slip through the cracks, apologies. At the start of 2012 he was hotly tipped to go on to bigger and better things and I think it's safe to say he has and last night proved it with a performance of "I'm Getting Ready" on Conan O'Brien's late night slot. Michael Kiwanuka has had a pretty impressive 2012 and it's going from strength to strength as last night he made his network television debut Stateside with a visit to the legendary Ed Sullivan Theater. He performed his track "I'm Getting Ready" from his beautiful album Home Again. If you're yet to hear Michael perform this is a great little introduction to a great rising talent. Everyone got excited at the beginning of the year for a breakthrough act called Michael Kiwanuka, he then went on to win BBC's Sound of 2012 and is readying his debut album, Home Again. Today The Guardian have offered up a full album stream for his debut which is set to drop next Monday on March the 12th. Have a cheeky listen and pre-order below if you like.

When I got wind of these two having put down a track together I was more than a little intrigued to see what they had come up with. Today that day has come and I must say it's a damn good piece of music that features production and some vocal duties from Dan Auerbach. With Michael Kiwanuka winning BBC's Sound of 2012 he was always going to have a decent year and this is the next piece in his puzzle. Enjoy the cut and whatever you're doing today.

This year is looking very bright for Michael Kiwanuka after he topped BBC's Sound of 2012 poll. He recently paid his first visit to the air waves of the US and was a guest on KCRW performing tracks from his full length debut Home Again which isn't due out until March. Adele also asked Kiwanuka to open for her on a load of tour dates which unfortunately for him and Adele were cancelled due to her vocal difficulties.
