[Listen] Magnetic Man - "Anthemic" Feat. P Money

If you read regualrly you'll be aware of our love for the UK dubstep threesome known as Magnetic Man, aka Skream, Benga and Artwork. Three big names in the dub scene coming together for an album of stomach churning tunes. Now, they released their self titled album last October and have had a couple of hit tracks with the help of Katy B and John legend and now their album track "Anthemic" has had some vocals thrown onto it by P Money. They four debuted this version recently at the Radio One Big Weekend in Carlisle. Check out the results below with the studio version. A nice Monday morning boogie is in order one you hit play, just sayin'.

[Watch] Magnetic Man - "Whip My Hair" (Live in BBC Live Lounge)

Magnetic Man dropped by the BBC Radio One Live Lounge at the weekend and covered that track. You know the one from Willow Smith, about hair or something. I'm not sure I can't recall ever hearing it. But the boys added their unique dub feel to it. It's not their best work but it is one of the better covers of this track I've seen. You may love it you may hate it, check it out for yourself above.

[Listen] Skream - "Lights in the Distance" x Magnetic Man Remix

Last week we got the visuals put to one of the stand out Magnetic Man tracks on their debut, "Going Nowhere". If you missed the weird visuals of youths roaming the streets then you can head over here. Yesterday though, this remix from Skream himself made an appearence online, adding another element to the track (more of a personal touch as he obviously had input on the original track being 1/3 of Magman!). Skream slows the track down a little yet the result surprised me, and as with the single, the vocal work of John Legend stands up tall making for an impressive little remix.

As an extra special weekend treat Skream put up a nice 170bpm track to his Soundcloud page. The track seems pretty deep and bassy and as Skream described it yesterday it's a little "soundtracky". Give it a listen to understand what I mean. As well as enjoying his re-working of the Magnetic Man track.

[Watch] Magnetic Man - "Getting Nowhere" Feat. John Legend (Video)

Finally some visuals for a stand out track from the master-class in dubstep that is UK's Magnetic Man track "Getting Nowhere". At the end of last year when I got hold of this LP I had it on repeat and as mentioned last week the album is set for release over in the US later this year

The track, which features John Legend is a stand-out, if not for being stuck on the end like it was made to simply appeal to the masses, but because of it's impeccable roundedness, and clean edges. It closes off an otherwise brilliant frantic album. The cherry on top of a cake, if you will to end the album nicely.

The video features some visuals featuring an Assassin's Creed-esque black hooded character roaming the streets of London on a horse, along with four coat wearing youths performing tricks on a BMX. Watch the video if not just to get some goosebumps from this great track but to absorb the wonderful vocal work of Mr Legend.

[News] Magnetic Man set to release album in US

Skream, Benga and Artwork have been mentioned on here a few times in the past, and for good reason. The trio also known as Magnetic Man spent the early part of the decade co-building what is now known as dubstep, from their HQ Big Apple records in Croydon, London. Magnetic Man kicked off 2010 with a trail of incendiary live performances across the UK and Europe – from the Roskilde Festival in Denmark and Melt festival in Germany to Manchester's Warehouse Project and this year’s Glastonbury - leaving festival goers and clubbers transfixed over the past year.

After a successful run in the UK including the hit single and heavily radio played "I Need Air" along with an unbelievably warm reception to their debut album the trio will take their indestructible energy to the states, with the release of their acclaimed self-titled debut on April 12th 2011!

The album is rounded, hectic where it needs to be and incredibly dirty in other parts. A stand out on the album for me is Karma Crazy with it's incredibly big drop and beat throughout that will have you dancing the night away. Another brilliant moment is the albums closing track which features John Legend, titled "Getting Nowhere" which I'm sure I heard John say in an interview with Annie Mac that it could be a single, and rightly so.

Brace yourselves America, Magnetic Man are coming and if their takeover and dominance of the UK in 2010 is anything to go by, you may be seeing a lot more of these three talented gentleman when the album graces your shores. Check out a nice cinematic video of the boys performing the track I mentioned before "Getting Nowhere" featuring John Legend at Manchester's Park Life last summer.

[Listen] Skream - "Shot Yourself In The Foot Again" Feat. Example

Skream has had a busy year being 1 of 3 parts to UK Dubstep super group Magnetic Man and this morning Zane Lowe premiered a brand new track from Skream featuring a SKoA favourite, Example. The track titled "Shot Yourself In The Foot" is just the right mount of dirty and will be added immediately to my party playlist. Featuring some nice Example vox you can listen to it in full below to decide if you would get up and dance to this one.

Skream, Benga and Artwork were also set to appear on Annie Mac this morning but Example and Skream were recording the video for this track into the early hours and going on both of their tweets it got a little messy and they ended up playing an impromptu set at a local club! Artwork and Benga did manage to get up on time though and joined Annie for a nice chat about Magnetic Man and what not. Enjoy "Shot Yourself In The Fot Again" below..
