[Album Stream] Listen to JJ Doom's 'Butter Edition' of 'Keys to the Kuffs', Including Remixes from Clams Casino, Thom Yorke and Beck

Refresher: JJ Doom = MF Doom and Jneiro Jarel. Last year, they released the fantastic Keys to the Kuffs, a collaboration that paired Doom's bizarre lyricism and Jarel's dark, outlandish production. Exactly one year later, on August 20th, Lex Records will be releasing the "Butter Edition" of the album, featuring reworked versions of tracks, new guest verses (including Del the Funky Homosapien) as well as remixes from the likes of Thom Yorke, Clams Casino, Beck and Dave Sitek. Stream the whole album below and pre-order it here.

[SKOA Presents] Beats For Daze #2 (All Hallows Edition)

Once again back is the incredible, your neighborhood friendly Rocko Rock with a brand new installment of Beats For Daze. For those unfamiliar with the series, BFD is monthly playlist compiled based around producers (the unsung heroes of hip hop) who create some of my favorite head nodding tracks of the past and current along with some unreleased goodies as well, all rolled up into one nice hour plus mixture for your ear drums' enjoyment. I know that sounds like I just tried to pitch a TV show or product, sorry. Those that missed out on our first installment of the series (which hit 10,000 plays in month on 8tracks!) should check it out here.

Being October, we felt necessary to dedicate this month's mixture to the upcoming holiday, Halloween. That's right, this month we got 31 tracks of goodness all inspired from the most spooky fun day of the year. Don't worry the always obvious choice, Michael Jackson's "Thriller" will not make an appearance on the mixtape although I'm a bit sad I didn't just add Vincent Price's epic laugh. But I did find some nice a nice Halloween vinyl in my record crate to atmosphere of the total mix. It's a bit cheesy but whatever. Among these tracks we got some classics from Danger Mouse when he was known Pelican City, Dan The Automator when he just went by Automator, Portishead, Massive Attack, The Herbaliser and more. With the inclusion of some newer tunes from The Gaslamp Killer, Thavius Beck as well as others and one of my favorite creepy DJ Shadow jams "Give Me Back The Nights", a track so evil I had to take a picture of myself listening to it, which you view below. So set a spell for awhile and check out the full mix in the player above.

And if you are still reading this, I like to say thank you for taking the time and listening to our Beats For Daze playlist, it really means a lot to myself and SKoA. We're working on something super special for the next month as well as some more awesome things for the following months. So make sure you check out other mixtapes and if you are on 8Tracks.com follow us and spread the good music around. Have an awesome Halloween!

<3 Rocko loves you.

[Watch] JJ DOOM - "Guv'nor" (Official Video)

The just-released Keys To The Kuffs, the collaborative album between Jneiro Jarel and DOOM, now has its first official video, and in rare form it's DOOM taking up all the screen time. The video for "Guv'nor" sees DOOM smashing chairs, riding a BMX, and spending way too much time in a vacant warehouse, but the most interesting thing about the video is how it was shot. Using a mirror-image film style, the video makes DOOM's rather mundane movements and actions seem way more exciting and trippy. Watch it above.

JJ DOOM's Keys To The Kuffs is out now via Lex Records.

[Listen] JJ Doom - "GUV'NOR"

Earlier this year, we got our first taste of JJ Doom, the collaboration between the masked menace MF Doom and rapper Jneiro Jarel, with the song "Banished". The song is set to feature on the pair's collaborative LP Key to the Kuff, which is set to drop next month, and now we have another cut from the soon-to-be-released long play. "GUV'NOR" offers solid delivery from Jarel and fantastic instrumentals from MF Doom, although if you know what to expect from Doom then there won't be many surprises here. Still, it's a great track. Stream it below.

Key to the Kuff is out on August 21st via Lex Records.

[Listen] Thom Yorke & Jonny Greenwood x DOOM - "Retarded Fren"

Earlier in the year it was rumored that masked emcee DOOM (Formerly MF DOOM) was working with Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke on a collabortive album. It looks like that rumor may become true as we get our first taste (aside from Thom Yorke's remix of DOOM's Gazzillion Ear) of the latest collaboration from Radiohead's Thom Yorke & Jonny Greenwood and the man himself (no imposter) DOOM. Check out the track "Retarded Fren" from the upcoming compilation celebrating the tenth anniversary of Lex Records. Now can we get a new Madvillain record? Is that too much to ask?

[Listen] DOOMSTARKS (DOOM x Ghostface) - "Victory Laps" (Madvillainz Remix)

Remember when I told you guys you should jump on ordering that DOOM x Akomplice Mystery Box? If you did, congrats! If you missed out, sucks for you but luckly the blogosphere always gots your back. Sadly, my package is at my folks place in another state, but our good friends at OneThirtyBPM came across one sweet ass gem located inside the Mystery Box, a brand new collaboration from (formerly MF) DOOM and Wu sword swinger Ghostface Killah aka DOOMSTARKS titled "Victory Laps." The Madvillainz Remix was included on a red cassette along with other DOOM goods inside the mystery box. This track marks the 4th collaboration from DOOM and Ghost who previously collaborated on the tracks "Angels" from DOOM's Born Like This, "The Mask" from Danger Doom's The Mouse And The Mask and "Chinatown Wars" from the Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Soundtrack.

However, if you missed out on ordering the limited edition package, don't fret, according to DOOMSTARKS' label the un-remixed version will be available on iTunes from July 26th. You can also head over to the Nature Sounds' website to preorder the limited-edition picture disc vinyl of the upcoming single which features both the original and the remix. One lucky recepient of the (not so mysterious anymore) box has posted a video of the contents of the box with the new song playing in (the not so best quality) in the background. Check it out after the jump.

UPDATE: Check out the HQ stream that premiered on Hot 97 below and the reveal video after the jump.
